So disappointed

I was excited to use a credit for this set until I began listening. The narrator for the entire series is a woman with a heavy Indian accent, making it difficult to get into the characters. The 4th book is missing. The chapters aren’t labeled or even differentiated between books. Perhaps with enough negative reviews they might actually catch on and fix this issue. Sigh…

Worthy of praise

I never write reviews, but this anne of green gables collection was absolutely enchanting. It was full of people who were kind, gracious, noble and courageous with threads of beauty and love woven throughout all the stories. A lovely audible in every way to listen to.

Butchery of classics

I love these books and stories but the narration was terrible; over-acted in a heavy Scottish/British accent not at all appropriate to Nova Scotia.

Imagine a high-toned villainess of a Jane Austen novel - droning on for 80 hours straight.

The repeated mispronunciation of many words is annoying, there are dozens of clicker interruptions followed by the rereading of segments and two books of the complete series are missing from this performance.

Now, right in the middle of one of the short stories at the end of these many hours, , the recording stopped and will not start again.

I wouldn't recommend this performance to anyone and I wish I hadn't bought it, myself.

Frustrating set up but story is good

We already listened to an audio book of Anne of Green Gables so I purchased this so we could continue the story. It is very frustrating that all of the books are listed as chapters in a “run on” series with no way to tell where each of the books starts. Also, the chapters listed don’t always correspond to what my audio player says the chapter is. We preferred the other narrator but this one is tolerable. Just sometimes hard to tell which character is talking because she doesn’t change the voices.

I should have listened to the sample.

This collection is read by a lady with a strong accent. It simply does not fit in with the location or characters in this classic series. I found that it distracted me from the story.

Not a good audio version of a great series

I love the Anne of Green Gables books, but I returned this title after listening for about 5 hours. The narrator is ok, but not my favorite. My biggest fault with this collection is that books are missing and it’s broken down into chapters that don’t make sense and the book titles are not listed so it’s impossible to navigate if you lost your spot.

Great story as always but 4 and 6 missing

The books are good as always. The narrator does have a strong accent but it doesn't bother me because I listen to these as I fall asleep. But I'm sad that book 4 Anne of windy poplars and book 6 anne of Ingleside aren't included.

Great stories

I loved the stories but without wishing to be unkind I found the narration questionable.
Words were run into each other constantly, the intonation was not correct a lot of the time so you found yourself momentarily working out what was meant. Amazingly when the narrator got something wrong she left in the wrong bit and just repeated the sentence again. No editing! I am amazed that this was passed by Audible. I can only assume that it was not listened to before it was released.
