Publisher's Summary

"We never let well enough alone.”

Six years after the publication of the original S&S, people are still getting great results from the program and the book has never left the Amazon weight training best seller list. So why another edition? Pavel answers with a quote from a novel: You know our motto: "We never let well enough alone."

This is Kettlebell Simple & Sinister: Revised & Updated Edition or simply S&S 2.0. Learn how to use the extreme hand-held gym from the man who started the kettlebell revolution.

  • Simple & Sinister will physically prepare you for almost anything life could throw at you, from carrying a piano upstairs or holding your own in a street fight.
  • Simple & Sinister will forge a fighter's physique because the form must follow the function.
  • Simple & Sinister will give you the strength, the stamina, and the suppleness to play any sport recreationally and play it well.
  • If you are a serious athlete, Simple & Sinister will serve as a perfect foundation for your sport-specific training.
  • If you are a serious lifter, Simple & Sinister will build your strength, rather than interfere with it.
  • Simple & Sinister will achieve all of the above while leaving you plenty of time and energy to do your duty, your job, practice your sport, and have a life.

Outstanding training protocol

Obviously this book is for auditory learners at intermediate to elite training levels. However this training protocol is simple enough for the curious beginner who is willing to research proper form and technique elsewhere. There are no PDFs or videos on training techniques

Pdf needed

A pdf file with exercise demos and workout charts is needed to make this worthwhile

Content is useful but too long for what it wants to transmit

It's a good buy, the workout is solid.

Content is useful but takes too long to get to the point, it could be summarized in 15min.

The review is highly personal, I really don't care much about the motivational psychology and narrative the author fills the blanks with, however the spin he puts on the narrative performance with the accent and bravado is hilarious and entertaining.

Great book, great program!

I love a book read by the author. Listening to this feels like being coached by Pavel himself. I've been lifting weights for 15+ years and this program is making me both stronger and leaner. I never understood how awesome kettlebells are until I started this. they really are didn't and in many ways better. I highly recommend this book. Pavel has a great sense of humor and a casual writing style that I really like. He's effective, entertaining and funny.

Can't get enough of Pavel

I am thrilled that this book is narrated by Pavel himself, same with Quick and the Dead. I've been practicing the latter for months now and have gained so much strength in various areas without even training them. Thank you Pavel, for all of your work and research, and for sharing it with us!

Fun and useful book but how about a PDF?

This book was interesting and the program seems useful. I am doing it now. I loved the stories and the fat that Pavel narrates the audio book. However, this book really could use a few pdfs considering it's based on movement and long term plans.

Nope

The book is more than likely very informative and good read but I couldnt do it to myself to listen to the audio version. It's unbearable to listen to Pavels short blast of stop/start sentences for hours on end.

Different but so so valuable

Enjoy it for being different. Think kettlebell, think strength. A great way to approach any staleness in your physical capabilities with a simple approach and measures.

Very interesting.

While there's some fantastic information in here and it's reinvigorated my love for kettlebell training and changed the way I structure my programming, Pavel says the word "sissy" almost as often as he says "kettlebell" and complains about the apparent "feminization of men" which is really off-putting. If you can ignore the misogynistic meathead tough guy tone, there are some real gems to be found here. Definitely a must-listen for anyone interested in strength training.
