In six lectures, Dr. Shumway and Dr. Wendler will help you understand the nature of neurodiversity, a growing school of thought that seeks to embrace the range of differences in individual brain function and behaviors rather than “correct” them, with a focus on empathy, acceptance, and accommodation.

It’s not just you. Stress levels are at an all-time high—so much so that a recently convened panel of medical experts in the US has recommended that all adults under the age of 65 be screened for anxiety. In How to Release Anxiety, Gabby Bernstein offers simple, actionable steps for feeling better, living with more ease, and showing up for those around us. Story
In Areté, Brian Johnson integrates ancient wisdom, modern science, and practical tools to, as per the sub-title of the book, help you activate your Heroic potential and fulfill your destiny. If you asked the ancient stoic philosophers how to live a good life, they’d answer you in a single word: Areté. We translate Areté as “virtue” or “excellence” but the word has a deeper meaning—something closer to being your best self moment to moment to moment.

These days, no one in America feels immune to violence. But now, in this extraordinary, groundbreaking book, the nation's leading expert on predicting violent behavior unlocks the puzzle of human violence and shows that, like every creature on earth, we have within us the ability to predict the harm others might do us and get out of its way. Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren't attentionseeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren't passive, permissive disciplinarians. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach.

Informative, interesting and obtainable
This is an amazing, informative read for those that aren't familiar with the Danish custom of peaceful living. And for those that are knowledgeable of this beautiful tradition, it's an easy little piece of reading comfort - complete with soothing recipes. I expect to be referring back to this, periodically, as I minimize and transform into a calmer state of living. I am looking forward to a calmer, quieter lifestyle, and will use this as my baseline.

Book for the cozy & content obsessed!!!!
Hygge is essentially the art of living a cozy life. In Hygge: the Danish Art of Coziness and Happiness, author, Barbara Hayden provides a compelling argument of how living a simple life mingled with comfort and simple pleasures are as essential to a joyful life as air is to our bodies.

A lovely book on Hygge!
It has so many beautiful photos, some fun recipes, and a lot of great information. My dad is a Danish immigrant and this book helps me get a glimpse of what makes him tick even after having lived in America for so many decades. The author did an amazing job of painting a romantic picture of what Hygge is all about, and how to achieve that in our homes. In a crazy, fast-paced world we could all use a little more Hygge! Pass coffee and marzipan, please!

Civility and warmth can change discourse
It focused less on the material coziness and more on the attitude of Hygge. I feel this is a very important aspect of Hygge during this age of division and creeping hate in our civil discourse. If we all work to manage our lives with the hygge spirit, we can make a difference in how our country treats people.
