Publisher's summary

When her sister, Pippa, goes missing, Nella Freling tells her boss she’s taking time off from her job as a research librarian, hops in her sensible van, and heads south of the border to Montana. However, local police don’t seem too concerned about a missing woman living in her motorhome. So Nella will have to look for Pippa by herself, unless she can convince a highly recommended tracker to help her, but sadly the rude and angry cowboy won’t even listen to her at first.

But Nella can be persuasive.

The first time High Mountain Tracker, Fletch Boone, laid eyes on Nella, her ass was stuck in his grocery cart. The next time was at the ranch; she was wearing mud, head to toe. But when he catches sight of her a third time, hanging off a cliff, he can’t turn his back again. What Nella lacks in survival skills she makes up for in sheer determination. Unfortunately, neither of those is enough protection when bullets start flying.

Fletch has no choice but to jump in before the woman gets herself killed.

And that would be a damn shame.

Good but production of audiobook is abysmal

Who ever thought they edited this audiobook is mistaken. The out takes in the performance we’re not edited out. There are also several blank spaces in the performance. It e Wally compromised the enjoyment of the book

Excellent romantic suspense-audio editing mistakes

Librarian meets sexy cowboy tracker. Okay, so I thought I wouldn't like Nella because she would put herself in places she doesn't belong but I liked her and her determination to find her sister. I really liked Fletch - so swoon-worthy, just wanted to give him a hug. Together, they had great chemistry together. Adult characters.

Lots of action and a great mystery plot. The story moved at a great pace and I was entertained the entire time. Great world-building with this series.

Narration - Connor Crais was an excellent Fletch - perfect voice for him. Loved Desiree Ketchum as Nella - she has a great future narrating.

Lots of editing errors from Chapter 17 onward, almost one per chapter- sections repeating, sections in the wrong order, long pauses. Nothing that can't be overlooked but it will take you out of the story.

Loved it

Nella has set out to find her sister who never showed up to visit her. The authorities aren’t really helping as she has been gone long and her home is an RV. She tries to get help from Fletch and has left messages he hasn’t answered. They have a chance run in at the grocery store and when she gets to the ranch and finds he is the guy who was supposed to be able to help find her sister she leaves without his help. Fletch likes being alone and has been trying to hunt a bighorn that he was lucky to get a tag for. He has few days left and doesn’t really want to focus on something else. As Nella starts looking for her sister alone, Fletch ends up helping her anyway. She finds herself in more trouble then she knows as keeps trying to find what happened to her sister and Fletch finds himself more drawn to her. I loved these two and the way the slowly got together with each other. One click you won’t be disappointed. The narrators were great being these two characters. Loved listening to them.

I Loved It!

High Stakes by Freya Barker pulled me in from the very beginning. I love how the author develops the characters and has them appear very realistic. Desiree Etchum and Connor Craig’s were fantastic at bringing them to life with their voices. They really added the emotions. I loved it! High Mountain Trackers is one of my favorite series by this author.

Suspenseful with romance thrown in

Book two of the High Mountain Trackers series and it doesn't disappoint.

Fletch, an ex-special operative and mountain, Nelly, a librarian and Nelly's sister Piper a free spirit that doesn't take her safety seriously. When Pippa goes missing, Nelly will stop at nothing to find her sister. When Fletch finds out Nelly is doing some investigating on her own, he is determined to keep her safe as well as help find her sister.

Fletch and Nelly's story is full of suspense that keeps you engaged in the story as well as Fletch and Nelly's HEA.

Great narration by Desiree Ketchum and Connor Crais.

Another hit!

Loved this one! Love story and suspense! I’ve listened to a lot of Freya’s books but this one is another great read. I really enjoyed there store and can’t wait to see if she does some of the other characters as well. Narration was on point as well too.

Absolutely Remarkable

I absolutely love how this author works. I don't know how this author gets her stories, but they sound so realistic that you think the author is a fly on the wall taking notes. Just when you think 'WOW, THIS novel is better then the last!' you binge read the next novel and bam, You don't know how, but you read everyone of the novels in order and now craving the next one.
The narrators are also exceptional. Great collaboration and teamwork here, you can tell. Really glad I was told on fb about this series, well worth it.
