Publisher's summary

I’m a medical resident, engaged, and settled. Just when I thought I was happy, he turns up on my operating table with a bullet wound in his chest.

And all the love and devastation we shared darkens my perceived happiness.

Bronson Butcher. My high school obsession. We were desperately in love until I made a mistake that severed our shared heart.

So when he wakes up in the hospital and hears my voice, he stalks me down the corridor. He pins me to the wall and inhales me as though starving...

But he's not that wild boy anymore. No. He's a ruthless man who takes what he wants, and what he wants is to punish me for running from him, remind me how my body hums beneath his—

What he wants is to take me back to his city with or without my consent.

Her Way features a possessive and dirty-talking hero who may be a little crazy, as well as a fiery and determined heroine. Both main characters are possessive, jealous, and fight for each other. HEA guaranteed.

Her Way is book three in the Kids of The District Series. You can listen to it as a standalone, but for the best experience, listen to Our Thing and Cosa Nostra before this book.

Beautiful & thought provoking in the perfect way

If you're a fan of gritty crime fiction/Hot Australian Dark Mafia mixed with a steamy romance, you won't be able to put down "Her Way" by Nicci Harris. The audio book, performed by Dorje Swallow and Sofia Lette, immerses you in the dangerous world of the Cosa Nostra in this 3rd instalment of the Kids Of the District series with the Butcher crime family, and the possessive and unhinged – psycho Golden retriever, Bronson Butcher who is fiercely loyal to his family, and Shoshanna, a determined and fiery heroine who destroyed Bronson's heart years ago.

Nicci weaves together the perspectives of both characters, giving the listener a deep understanding of their motivations and inner turmoil. Bronson's point of view is particularly compelling as he struggles with the weight of his family legacy and his intense desire to protect those he loves. Shoshanna's character is equally complex, with a determination and strength that shines through even in the darkest of moments.

Bron-Bron & Shosh's story is full of twists and turns as they are reunited after years of separation and must navigate their complex feelings for each other while also dealing with the dangerous world of the Cosa Nostra. Their reunion is one of chaos, intensity and revelation and whilst Shosh's traumatic events separated them in the past, the events that bring them together are equally as intense. In Bronson's defence, he is technically correct: it's not kidnapping when you are an adult: Lady-napping is accurate!
Her Way is such a book of revelations, with Jimmy's betrayal, the trauma Victoria inflicted on him and his beautiful brothers and why her and Luca were married: just so many layers to this deliciously dark and complex Butcher Boy romance including the steamy and swoony epic love-story: Bron-Bron and Shosh are fire!

One of the highlights of this audiobook is the way it challenges the commonly misquoted phrase, "blood is thicker than water." Nicci reminds us of the true meaning behind the original quote, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." This powerful message emphasises that chosen bonds can be even stronger than those with blood relatives. It serves as a poignant reminder that the relationships we create for ourselves are often more important than the ones we are born into.

I deeply admire how Nicci's writing, although fictional, mirrors reality by delving into the complexities of human connections. The intricate and relatable nature of the relationships portrayed in her books is truly remarkable. Bronson's unwavering love for Stone, despite not being his biological son, showcases the immense power of chosen family bonds. Similarly, Victoria being the biological mother of the Butcher boys does not guarantee unconditional love. These themes resonate deeply and remind us that true love and devotion transcend mere biology.

Dorje Swallow brings Bronson's point of view to life with his captivating smooth sonorous voice, making you feel the intensity of his love for Shoshanna and the weight of his responsibilities to his family. Meanwhile, Sofia Lette's performance as Shoshanna is fiery and determined, perfectly complementing Bronson's possessiveness.

The chemistry between Bronson and Shoshanna is electric, and their interactions are intense and passionate. Dorje and Sofia do an excellent job of conveying the raw emotions that drive these characters, and the chemistry between them is intense and heart warming.
Nicci has crafted a story that is both captivating and thought-provoking, and the audio book is a perfect way to experience it: Dorje & Sofia are Bronson & Shoshanna: perfection! #Brosh
Overall, "Her Way" is a thrilling and steamy read and listen that will leave you breathless and your heart pounding. This is a must-read for fans of crime fiction and romance. The audiobook is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the world of Bronson and Shoshanna, and the performances by Dorje Swallow and Sofia Lette are nothing short of stellar. Highly recommended! 5 Stars All Her Way!

Perfect

I loved everything about this story. I almost didn’t continue this series but I am so happy I did. Bronsons story was the best, and the ending was perfect.

Worth for the author’s note at the end alone!

Bronson’s journey with his Distraction was everything an adventurous heart needs wants to read. Nicci wrote her characters with the realization that there is good and bad,”nut case”, and even evil in every person.

These audios get better and better!

Just like the previous book in this series this audio is absolutely amazing! The Australian narrators bring so much to the story. They nailed the emotions that each character feels throughout the story and neither one of them made me cringe when having to narrate the opposite sex (sometimes females cannot nail the male part but Sofia Lette was phenomenal). Dorje Swallow, when narrating young Bronson was so fabulous....the excitement that comes out in his voice had me wanting more of him. I cannot wait for the audiobooks for the rest of this series!!!!

I love our nutcase

I thought I couldn’t like this story as much as Max and Cassidy’s story…
Nicci proved me wrong. The ending so special and not a “typical” HEA, which made me love it even more.

Unbelievable emotional perfection!

Her Way is book 3 in the kids of the district series.

This book ripped my heart apart and slowly sewed it back together. Bronson and Shoshanna found young pure love in a world full of things unloved and very impure. They clung to each other and believed in each other. In a moment of weakness and doubt Shoshanna makes a decision that send them on a 10 year spiral of loss and misery.

This book is phenomenal on so many levels. The fact that the Author was able to write it in a way that sucks you in and allows you to feel the pain these two go through has you feeling each step towards a much deserved HEA. Its heart wrenchingly beautiful to read and also just heart wrenching at the same time.

The plot is an intricate weave that takes you through their journey past and present and sets up the story piece by piece in a way that never leaves you lacking for detail. No plot holes are left unfilled and no stone left un turned.

On top of an amazing plot line is editing and grammar that are near perfection and no mistakes to get in the way of an amazing reading experience.

This book is also available on Audible with Dorje Swallow as the amazing voice of a charismatic Bronson and Sofia Lette as the strong willed Shoshanna. The emotion these 2 bring to these characters is top notch and Sofia Lettes performance in Chanper 33 is beyond words. So So SO good!

I love this series.

I would have given this book a 5, but it took awhile to continue the Butcher family take over of the mob. I like when the whole family is involved. Still worth a credit, and about 1/2 way through it got more exciting. Perfect narration.

Oh, Bronson Butcher!

I was both excited and nervous to read this story. If you knew about Bronson in the previous books in this series, then you know something very bad happened in his past to make him into the multi-layered killer we've come to know and (admit it) love. He's hard not to love, even with the crazy that comes with him.

Childhood sweethearts, broken up by events in their teenage years, Bronson and Shoshonna went their separate ways. He as a part of his family business, and she as a doctor. Life seems to be going along until Bronson gets shot and ends up in the very hospital Shoshanna works. Some hell breaks loose after that, and we get more background on young Bronson and Shoshanna. There are complications in both their adult lives, but the chemistry seems to still be there between them. This was a beautiful, somewhat broken story between high school sweethearts that may have had a totally different--not necessarily better--life with or without one another. I feel they needed to be apart and live their lives without the other to truly appreciate their strong connection and love.

I loved that Shoshanna wasn't a wilting flower. She could hold her own against Bronson, and anyone who tried to mess with her man.
Sofia Lette and Dorje Swallow beautifully narrate this very complicated tale of second chance love.

Bummed that Stone wasn't Bronson's biological son

Branson wanted a brother for his deceased first child with a little bit of mom and a little bit of dad. He got a son who needed and father and the beginning of a new family. It's bittersweet I guess. Bitter because after listening for 11+ hours, I wanted more for Bronson, still a solid book and worth the credit.
