Publisher's Summary

A sexy, funny, stand alone short Christmas story.

Patisserie Chef Christopher Miller works for Big Boy Cupcakes, London’s only gay bakery. His boss had closed the bakery on the 23rd of December, and Chris was looking forward to some well needed time off, and Christmas alone. But then his boss calls him with a last minute order - the order of his dreams - to bake for his movie idol, actor Jason Beck.

Just as he is about to deliver the order, Chris’s dreams are turned upside down by an explosive, fateful meeting with Fred, an errant Chocolate Labrador. The dog’s owner turns out to be Robin Summers, a one night stand from months before...the man that Chris could not forget.

Romance, pastries, and holidays! An Excellent Mix!

While on Christmas Holiday from the bake shop he works for, Chris gets a call from his boss about a special order that needs to be made right away, and it just so happens to be an order from his favorite movie star, Jason Beck. Chris agrees and goes to work to make the tasty treats for Beck's party.

But while taking them out to his car, a Chocolate Labrador takes out the whole order. What is Chris going to do now? The dog's owner turns out to be Chef Robin Summers, a one night stand of Chris' from several months back. Robin offers to help Chris remake the order. Robin happens to be the one night stand that Chris cannot forget. Unfortunately, Robin has forgotten, which makes their evening of pastry making a little tense.....

Isobel Starling has done it once again, creating real, dimensional characters in a brief story. Her characters are always outstanding, and there is always more to them than meets the eye, so to speak.

Pick this one up and enjoy the holidays and maybe a batch of penis cakes!

Fun, Wonderful, Sexy Short Story

I absolutely loved this short audiobook. The characters were both sweet and lovable. The mood is light and humorous, and I liked the way that the story didn't go quite the direction I initially thought it might. I expected something like a "guy meets idol and has a hook-up" story, or even a cinderella kind of story, where the guy meets his heart-throb and something deeper happens. Instead it was two ordinary guys brought together by a dog and a cupcake disaster who get a second chance to connect. The bakery scenes were fantastic and humorous. I loved the descriptions of the cupcakes, and the hoops Chris makes Robin jump through before he lets him help. Yeah, making him undress in front of the curtainless window. Awkward...and funny. There were some sexy times in the kitchen, but this is more romance than erotica. Wonderful all around! Gary Furlong does his usual great job of narration.

Sweet and spicy

Patisserie Chef Christopher Miller never expected that a caketastrophe when delivering the most important order of his life could find him find love…
A really sweet short story with just the right amount of spicy in it. It tells us about Christopher and Robin, who meet when Robin’s labrador crashes into Chris and destroy a ready-to-be delivered order of cupcakes. The catastrophe turns into an offer to help made by Robin, who is ashamed both by his dog’s attitude and by the fact that he cannot remember having had a hookup with Chris some time ago. Working side by side in the kitchen, their chemistry is as obvious as what a good team they make
If the story is cute and the characters likeable, the performance by Gary Furlong makes it really memorable, and utterly delightful way of spending an hour of your time
Very recommendable

Fun and cupcakes

What a cute story done with a cute accent. This is a sweet little tale of a cupcake debacle. It truly was fun. These two guys, Chris and Robin, end up making penis cupcakes for a famous actor. But Fredrick the dog has other ideas. There is romance and a wee bit of kitchen sex. A dog, cupcakes and a holiday afternoon. What more could you ask for.
Well done.

Sweet quick read

This was a very fast read & I would have liked it to have been longer. Chris & Robin had a hook up several mths previously & Chris was upset that Robin never contacted him, not sure why Chris didn't. Chris has been called into work on his day off to make sweets for his favorite movie star. While leaving to deliver them he has a run in with Fred, the sweet Labrador that is owned by Robin. What we have now is the re-connection between these two, and a hot scene in the back of the bakery. I would have liked more but this was a really well written book for such a short story.

Hot pastry man

I enjoyed the banter between the two men. And the sex scene is pretty hot! But, there was something missing or maybe the story had an abrupt ending.

Gary Furlong added greatly to the story making the characters come alive.

A Fun Christmas short

First, I have to say this. I absolutely adore Gary Furlong. I really, really do. Unfortunately, I don't think he brought this book to life the way he usually does. I honestly think this is the first time I haven't given him a five star rating. His characters were awesome, but this was a comedy, and (IMO) he needed to liven things up a bit.

The story was still funny. Just the bakery itself is hilarious, and I wish we had one around here! You get the main idea of the plot from the blurb, so I'm not going to go into much detail. However, when Chris finally allows Robin to help redeem his most recent screw up, the "cleanup" he makes Robin do in the front of the store is priceless.

This is not an erotic short; there is a sexy time, and plenty of sexual tension. But, if you're looking for a fun holiday short, this is a great place to start.

A Sweet, Funny + Seasonal Second Chance shortstory

I love to bake, especially at Christmas and so listening to Gary Furlong narrate a story that began with baking cupcakes was a sinfully sweet delight. His narration is SO GOOD. I'm sure that man could read out a shopping list and I would be enthralled.

From the start this short story is laugh out loud funny. It's set in London at Christmas and pulled me in at once.
I loved how Chris and Robin met and rekindled their romance. No spoilers, but anyone who has read Isobel Starling books knows she won't let you down.

I would highly recommend this audiobook.

Christmas tale of love

Great short listen by Isobel, who never fails to disappoint.
This short story revolves around Chris who has an order of Speciality Big Boy Cupcakes to make and deliver to his idol Jason Beck on Christmas Eve but as you can guess nothing goes to plan. A dog, a man and an egg white make this a hilarious tale of second chance love.
Gary Furlong is a superb narrator.

A deliciously funny and sweet Christmas tale.

Chris Miller is a patisserie chef who specializes in cupcakes with saucy toppers. He gets the Christmas order of his dreams and then those dreams are dashed with hilarious and sexy results. This audiobook was, as expected from Isobel Starling, laugh-out-loud funny, kinky and sweet. This 'second chance at love' short story was great fun. I was entertained by the comedy and delighted by the romance. Gary Furlong never lets me down when it comes to his narrations. Listen to a sample and you'll be hooked!
