Publisher's Summary

It may be cold outside, but the snow begins to melt when an unlikely couple comes together during the holidays…

Christmas is right around the corner, but after creating a society scandal, New York heiress Melody Hascall-Ebons has nowhere to turn. Cut off by her family for running away with an actor - who turned out to be using her for publicity - Mel is penniless, homeless, and disgraced. There’s only one place to go, and that’s back to the fiancé she ditched. But instead of her ex, she finds his friend Daveed Rafik. The handsome military translator disarms Mel with his easy smile and surprising sympathy. But as she struggles to get her life on track, the last thing Mel needs is to fall into the strong arms of her ex-fiancé’s best friend.

Counter-terrorism expert Sheikh Daveed Rafik has spent his career dealing with delicate and dangerous situations, but none of them compares to Melody Hascall-Ebons. He’s supposed to be helping his friend Murphy find his missing sister, not consoling the spoiled rich girl who dumped their buddy Heath. But the more he learns about Melody, the more he likes. With her unexpected intelligence and distinctive beauty, Melody calls to him in powerful ways. But when the woman he is arranged to marry shows up, Daveed’s highly organized life suddenly gets very complicated.

The streets of New York are steeped in holiday cheer, but can Daveed and Melody thaw the ice around their hearts enough to make room for love?

Great Narration, Engaging Story!

D. C. Cole is always one of my go to narrators. He always does such a great job with the voices and the emotions in the stories he narrates; thus you get a thoroughly entertaining listening experience. This story was an engaging romance. The characters were likeable and the storyline was interesting. Unfortunately there is an unresolved mystery so it does end with a cliffhanger, which was a disappointment. This book was given to me for free and I provided this unbiased review.

Christimas in July!

There is something about a holiday romance when it's 100 degrees outside that I am attracted to. Leslie North has written a wonderful story of love with this first in her All I Want for Christmas is series. Melody is back in New York after breaking up with her fiance, Heath and running off with an actor only to find out he was using her for publicity. Back to Heath's apartment, she runs into his best friend Daveed. After the initial awkwardness, Daveed begins to see there is more to Melody than he first thought. Both of these characters have issues. Daveed is faced with rebelling family traditions, Melody has to get her life back on track. The thing that drew me into this book was Melody. She is full of craziness and imperfections, not the typical rich girl. She is intuitive, smart and her insecurities are not hidden. I loved her scrappiness, especially when bargaining and I think these are all things that Daveed was attracted to and fell in love with.

DC Cole can read a story like no other. No matter the genre, the story is brought to life with voices that make a movie in your mind. This narration is incredibly good with the slight accent of Daveed and the endearments used. It will melt you each time you hear it them.

Great Narration

Leslie is such a creative writer! I really enjoy her Sheikh's stories. This one is quite different and the story develops in the US and not overseas. The characters are interesting and likable. Christmas story in July is a great break from the heat outside! I enjoyed the unique engaging story.

Narration was excellent and bought the story to life. I always enjoy listening to D.C. Cole!

This story is fairly short with just over 4 hours of listening time. I enjoyed being able to get through it in one sitting! I'm already looking forward to book 2!

A Sheikh For Christmas

Melody finds herself cut off from everything she has ever known and no place to go. So she goes to be her ex for a place to stay for the night, only he is not home. Instead his friend, Daveed, is in residence. She is the last person he wants to deal with, but his big heart won't let him throw her out. He has to help her so she does not wind up on the street. And in helping her he can't help but fall for her. The narration was awesome, and really brings the book to life.

Holiday Heat!

Melody made a bad decision leaving Heath the way she did. Now she is back, trying to make things right. Daveed is Heath's friend and wasn't expecting Melody to show up at Heath's condo, wet, and dispirited. No matter how mad he was at her, he couldn't turn her away, and found he actually wanted to help her. Melody is strong, resilient and a bit impetuous. She wants to make her own path and be independent. Daveed softens towards this feisty, sexy woman, and their chemistry heats up fast. This is a sweet, heartwarming and suspenseful story. D.C. Cole's narration is amazing. I love how he is able to give each character their own distinguishable voice and moves effortlessly between sweet, playful, emotional, suspenseful and then back again. I always enjoy his work.

Holiday Magic

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A cute little romance about realizing you’ve judged someone very wrong. Sheikh Daveed Rafik is staying in his friend’s place when Melody Hascall-Ebons, his friend’s fiancé, appears at the door looking like a drowned rat and in need of help. She had left his friend and married someone else so why should he help her? Time and Christmas Magic answers that question.

Love DC Cole... so Yay!

Two Thumbs Up!

Great narration

I've read and loved many Leslie North books and the writing in this one was just as good as I've come to expect. The narration was excellent, the character voices were well done and the tone and pace of the delivery worked well for the story.

The characters are well written but so far out of my realm of experience I couldn't connect with either of them, and this left me feeling disconnected from the story.

The plot was interesting, the descriptions vivid and there's lots of chemistry between the lead characters.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
