Publisher's summary

Just like Rapunzel from the fairy tales, dreamy, romantic Amy lives a hidden life. She's kept locked away in a tower for her own safety, with her sister as protector. Amy knows it's for her own good. If a dragon catches her scent, she'll be carried away and forced to become a drakoni's mate. But Amy has a secret that she desperately wants to be stolen. She would love to be rescued from her life of idleness and the thought of a devoted drakoni male charging in and saving her from her boredom sounds perfect to her.

Of course, she wants a romantic, loving male who will adore her. What she gets is Rast. He's not kind. Not romantic. Definitely not gentle. But he is utterly and completely obsessed with Amy and he'll stop at nothing to make the delicate female his. Contains mature themes.

Good read!

Of the dragon series, I think this is my first or second favorite after sasha’s! There’s a lot of pain in this post apocalyptic world, so sometimes the male violence gets too much for me, but the focus on Amy’s relationship was very welcome!

Very Enjoyable and Great Addition

I wasn't sure at first how I thought I'd feel about this book. But boy am I glad I got. I really enjoyed it! Both Amy and Rask are great characters having each flaws that anyone can relate to. The narrator's did an amazing job as per usual these pair up so wonderfully. Great job Ruby Dixon!

Anxiously awaiting the next one!

Been waiting for this book since January. I cannot wait for the next one. I have so many questions. Who's book is next? What happens to the previous characters how is the subplot of the draconian world going to tie in and come to a head? (Snicker) Not just riveting for the sex and romance. I'll be waiting with baited breath for the next audiobook!

Excellent 3rd Volume, Beauty & the Beast Partners

Ruby Dixon has created another great story in the Fireblood series this time bringing us Amy, who is the sister of the main female Claudia from the first volume in this series. Amy has been kept hidden away and longs to be free and we see her pick up from where the last volume left off sneaking to bring a male dragon in by leaving her scent outdoors to be found and rescued.

In the same style as the others in the Fireblood series there is a pairing where a male dragon (in this one Rast) is attracted to a female he decides is his mate and their contact and connection help clear the madness the dragons experience in this realm. Again we see a large focus by the male on wanting their partner to be pleasured and consenting to whatever they do as well as feeling very possessive and protective and a desire to impregnate their mate.

Unlike what I was expecting from the description on the audible page the dragon Rast is incredibly protective, patient, and gentle with Amy repeatedly countering her own internal self-criticism. But this does have a very different dynamic especially from the last volume where the female in the pairing held lots of control. Amy is painted as an innocent who can do nothing to withhold any of her feelings or thoughts from her dragon partner, and he is very paternalistic and possessive controlling the partnership, shielding his thoughts from her, and keeping her isolated from others. This is why it had a much more Beauty and the Beast feeling to me of keeping the female pleased and well cared for as long as she stays in the castle.

However, Ruby does an excellent job of developing Amy and more than the other heroines in the previous volumes I feel like Amy changes more than any of the other prior females in the series. By the end the audience really gets to see the rise in strength in the character and a sense of genuine pride from her dragon mate. As with all the volumes there is a great deal of story in these volumes continuing to build the world, expanding the territory to new forts, and involving new characters. The characters shown feel very real and alive and are interesting. I was surprised that Amy herself did not fall flat or boring with her innocence but became more intriguing and full as the story progressed, finding her voice and place.

Noelle continues to do an excellent job as narrator bringing the story to life, I still am not really a fan of Jeremy's narration for the male characters, which is totally just my own auditory preferences. Jeremy does a great job with the appropriate inflections and clearly took the time to try to embody the characters and I would love to hear him read other narratives just not this one.

Overall I think this is a great addition to a wonderful series, and again as Ruby has done with each of the other volumes in the series she creates the beginning of a bridge setting up a character that will serve as the new protagonist in the next story. I don't take this as a cliffhanger but something that creates an easy transition and allows the audience to get a taste of what the new pairing will be like. I actually really enjoy this. If you are looking for an immersive world, sci-fi twists, with slowly developed sex scenes, and slowly increasing interconnected cast of characters this volume and series are worth your time.

Amy & Rast.

I had a harder time believing this couple’s romance, they don’t really match very well. But once I let that go it was good. There is even more information of the dragon’s world on the other side of the rift, since Rast remembers more. I am looking forward to more from this series. While it is not my favorite series, it does have a nice take me away romance that I like to listen to from time to time. Narrators are good.

Enjoyable Read

This book was well written and has a HEA.
The H and h were well explored. . I have not read the books that preceded this one and that would have been helpful. But it is still a standalone book.

Fort Shreport

I think that this is one of the better books of the story line. Amy really comes into her own. I cant wait to find out if Ruby Dixon makes more of this story and what happens with Thawn and the Fort Shreport. I also want to know what happens with Fort Dallas. What a way to keep us hanging.

The narration is perfection as always!

Amy and Rast story was a little different from every other couple. Amy was so lonely and desperate to find her dragon mate and have him sweep her off her feet like a fairytale, however, Rast a previous Army general feels he is far from Prince Charming. The story and relationship between these two was interesting to read and to see Amy’s character development was awesome. I am excited to keep going!
