Publisher's summary

I've always been lost . . .

Abandoned by a father who didn't want me. Cherished by a stepfather, though I wasn't his. Shattered by a boy who swore he loved me. But I belonged nowhere, to no one. Then I met Owen, the sweet-talking hockey player who made me love him. He gave me the courage to trust in someone besides myself. He showed me a love I longed for. When an unwanted ghost comes knocking on my door, my heartbreaking history threatens to repeat itself. But where do I turn if I lose everyone? And how do I find where I belong, when I'm still Finding Me?

#OwenIsMINE

I've been in love with Stephanie Rose's books ever since her debut, Always You. This is her first foray into the audible world and hopefully not her last. When I read Finding Me I fell fast and hard for Owen, and of course loved Bella from the time she was a little girl. I've never been one for listening to books but this... Every spare moment I had I listened. It helped me enjoy mundane household chores and it opened my mind to the wonderful world that Ms. Rose created. The narrator of this book did a terrific job of blending the characters and making them come to life. I think I may now become an audible junkie!

Finding Me

4.5 Stars rounded up.

This was so sweet. I loved Owen from the start, his true feelings for Bella were obvious. They were fun and flirty and (eventually sexy). And since I just finished Always You I was super excited to see Lucas and Sam again. (This could be a stand alone but I highly recommend at least reading Always You first)

Sassy Bronx Meets Southern Sexy!

It was so much fun catching up with Bella after I fell for the adorable little girl in Always You and the emerging young teen in the novella Always Us. This can definitely be read/listened to as a standalone though. In Finding Me, Bella is off to her freshman year of college. She is attending a school 4 hrs away from home to re-invent herself after a terribly embarrassing breakup with her ex-boyfriend. He made her believe she wasn't enough for him. This raised all kinds of insecurities of always being left behind, first from her father when she was small and now her first crush. When she meets Owen, a cocky hockey player with a sexy southern accent, she doesn't believe she is good enough for him. Owen was sick of girls only wanting him because he was on the hockey team. He liked that Bella was smart, independent, and beautiful. She didn't care how many goals he scored, she liked him for who he was and wouldn't let him get away with anything. He was patient and determined to break through her defenses and make her his. I liked how their relationship grew naturally, first as friends and study partners, then gradually into more. Bella liked how funny and sweet Owen was and enjoyed his teasing so much that she would finally give in to his southern charm. They were really great together and their chemistry was combustible. This story had several events and plot twists that tested their bonds, added suspense, and kept me engaged. The narrator, Lauren Sweet, had the perfect voice for young adult females but she was also able to effortlessly move to the male voices. She is a wonderful story teller. I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, sexy, and exhilarating story.

I loved reading this story and now listening to it! The narrator was a perfect match for the book. Owen's accent was spot on. Reminded me of why I fell in love with Bella and Owen.

Sweet Contemporary Romance

Bella has been burned by her Dad & Ex-boyfriend. Her Dad left her when she was young but her stepfather has taken care of her like she is his own. Her ex-boyfriend has humiliated her in front of her whole high school by cheating on her while away at college and having pics posted online where everyone could see.

When Bella leaves for college, she decides to keep guys at a distance but Owen slowly breaks her wall piece by piece. Owen is a sweet hockey player that steals her heart. There are some ups and downs but it concludes with a sweet HEA.

The narrator does a fairly good job bringing the story to life. Owen's accent was great and very fitting.

I'm looking forward to listening to more books by this talented author.

Not bad, not great, but good

A good read. This just felt very young adult to me. I tend to lean towards more mature adult romance these days.

The hero is a good guy and displayed some jealous, possessive behavior that I like to see in my heroes. Nothing over the top.

There is a little bit of other woman drama. While I didn't like her character, the author did a good job of not overdoing her part.

The heroine is a sweet girl. She had a couple immature behavior moments but nothing too bad. There wasn't anything exceptional about her. I do tend to care more about the hero in books though.

I think overall the author did a good job of not making anything too much in this story. While I liked that, it also didn't make the story stand out for me either. Again, that could be because this couple felt too young for what I normally like.

I did struggle a bit with the audiobook. The narration part of the story was spoke in low tones but when it came time for the characters speak, it was louder. I could not adjust the volume to cater to both. I either couldn't hear the quiet parts or the loud parts were too loud.
