Publisher's Summary

To survive where I live, you have two options. You can be a Normal - a cheerleader, jock, member of the debate team, or on the yearbook committee. You pretend everything is normal. Or you can be crew. You insult us? We hurt you. You hurt us? We really hurt you. And if you f--k with us, we will end you.

My name is Bren. I'm the only female in the Wolf Crew - the best, fiercest, and most dangerous crew there is - and we have a rule: There's no falling in love.

Well...too late.

This book contains mature young adult situations.

I tried to like it

I love reading Tijan books and this was my first audio I have listened from her. This book was boring and it was so repetitive of reminding us that the MC Bren is part of Crew. This whole; We are Crew, I am Crew, No one messes with us cuz we are Crew; business was getting old really quick. We do not need to be reminded of this every 15 seconds. I know it is a spin-off of Fallen Crest but it is basically the same story different day kind of thing. I tried to push through but I had to call it quits after 35 chapters.
On the bright side the narration was really good.

Loved it

Omg... I loved this story. Crew was fast paced, intriguing and riveting. I was hooked from the start. These characters were flawed and complex yet so well developed. I loved Bren, the only female in Crew. Her relationship amd budding romance with Cross was swoon worthy. Those two made a smile. The story was edgy and fierce. This novel was more than just a romance. It consumes you with everything that's ongoing. There was never a dull moment.
This novel was narrated by Therese Plummer. She did a fantastic job with the characters. Her voice was clear and understandable and she brought the story to life. I absolutely loved this novel. It was a phenomenal read amd I would highly recommend this to all lovers of Young Adult romance.

Soooooo disappointing. Worst yet from Tijan.

Soooooo disappointing. This was the absolute Worst yet from Tijan. And I'm a massive Tijan fan. The whole story was just way too over the top. Totally not believable at all and it just became annoying. Such a shame.

Hot Damn

So that ending man. Drake is kind of messed up in the brother sense but as far as the crews go I get it. But damn. Anyway. I really like Bren and I love Zee’s comic random relief throughout. Even Cross is cool but in a different brooding type of way.

What I didn’t know was that this was a spin off from Fallen Crest Series. Which I have a love hate relationship for. But I do really like this one and can’t wait to read the next one.

Different for me

Overall I will say this book was ok. Loved the way they looked out for each other. Couldn't get into it as much, probably because I have listened to/read the other books.

Hmmmm!!

Tried to embrace female lead but just found her annoying and repetitious. I actually thought the concept of the story line was good, but just found it went over and over the female leads past secret too much, and when the reason finally came out, is was like wow, that is it. Also i was always thinking through the story, crew not gang, not much difference i felt, story just seemed to get to caught up in crew not gang and the secret. This just wasn't for me.

A full five star review - I loved it

You know the feeling. You start a book, and from that very first page you know. You just know that you’re gonna love it. Well that was me with ‘The Boy I Grew Up With’. I’ve not had that feeling for a while, but thank you Tijan. It’s back! I fecking loved Channing and Heather. I was expecting good, great even, what I got was even better, it blew all my preconceived notions out of the window. It literally blew me away! We got a glimpse of Heather and Channing in Fallen Crest, and then again in Crew, but nothing prepared me for all the feels, the emotions, the never wanting a book to finish feeling I haven’t had in what feels like forever. The book starts in the middle of their, oh so complicated relationship, whilst they are currently ‘not together’. The story takes us through their very tumultuous, yet emotional relationship from when they met in fifth grade to the present day. The synopsis says it all, so I won’t duplicate it in my review. I will tell you that this is one of my top reads this year, that the writing was perfect, and the story was full of passion, action, lots of drama, sexy times, and yes again, that word, emotion. I loved it. Also two different book covers, one for ebook, and one for paperback. I love them both. Oh, and that bonus scene! I almost missed it. Perfection. I couldn’t have asked for more in a romance novel. Excellent narration from Therese Plummer, she completely nailed Bren. A full five stars.
