Publisher's summary

It was supposed to be simple—dinner with my best friend’s little brother as a favor. No big deal, right?

Wrong.

That lanky boy I remember from our college graduation is nowhere to be found. When I meet him at his sister’s apartment, I’m facing a sexy, broad-shouldered, absolutely gorgeous man. And we’re supposed to spend the evening together. Maybe have a drink. And then go home. Separately.

Instead, I take Mason home. And although he’s moved halfway across the country, we’ve spoken every day since. He’s never let me forget the amazing night we shared—the night that never should have happened.

As if I ever could.

Fast forward a few months to a trip out west to a music festival—my surprise gift for my bestie’s birthday. But apparently, this trip isn’t the only surprise this weekend.

Mason is here. He still wants more—he still wants me. His sister has no idea that her little brother and I have become...something. Something I’ve spent months running from. Something I can’t deny.

I’ve fallen for my best friend’s little brother.

But how do I make my head and my heart stop feeling like he’s the boy I shouldn’t want?

The Boy I Shouldn't Want

Mason is the guy Sadie shouldn't want. He is younger and her friend's little brother, but that doesn't stop them from falling for each other hard and fast.

I liked this novella being dual POV. Things move so quickly between Mason and Sadie that it helped to see the emotion and attraction from each of them. It was nice that Mason was very direct on what his feelings were and how much he cared for.

Sadie's friendship with Autumn was another part of the book I enjoyed. They spend a lot of time together as the story progessed and I could see how much the friendship means to each of them. They care about each other so much and Sadie doesn't want to hurt Autumn when she reveals her relationship with Mason.

If you are looking for a fun, low -angst story this is a great pick. I enjoyed the narration and thought they were perfect for the characters. It is part of a series written by multiple authors but is a standalone. I haven't read any of the other books and didn't feel lost at all.

I loved that this was a duet

I read this story months ago and enjoyed it. I love a BFF brother story and this was no different. You could hear the emotion in Stella Hunter’s voice with her struggling between following her heart and her loyalty to her best friend.
Jason Clarke was the perfect voice for Mason. There were time his voice made my toes curl. Mason is such a sweet character and how he follows his heart with Sadie changing his schedule around to see her is awesome. I love a good HEA

Heartwarming and Sizzling Romance!

I loved this best friend's younger brother romance! Sadie and Mason are thrown together when Mason's sister had to work and couldn't entertain her brother while he was visiting. It had been years since Sadie and Mason had seen each other. They were not prepared for the changes that were before their eyes, and the heat that exploded between them. They couldn't fight the fiery attraction they felt and had a passionate night together. Sadie felt so guilty thinking she had betrayed her best friend, so she pushed Mason away. But Mason was determined to make her see that he was a grown man who could make her happy, and his sister would understand. This sweet and sexy age gap romance is the perfect example of how a short story should be written. It grabbed me right from the start and wouldn't let go, having a depth that was totally satisfying. I really fell for both Sadie and Mason, they were so perfect together and narrators Stella Hunter, and Jason Clarke endeared them even more to me. The really nailed Sadie and Mason's characters and made them their own. They made this story even more captivating, and seductive, expressing their chemistry with great passion. I loved everything about this charming and sizzling romance!

Fun Romance

The Boy I Shouldn’t Want is a fun, sexy novella about a woman who falls in love with the younger brother of her best friend. The characters are fresh and smart, the pining is well done, and their encounters are hot. I listened to the audiobook. Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter did a great job in duet narration. A lovely way to spend a few hours.

Just perfect!

I really loved Sadie and Mason's story. It was hot, romantic and sweet! They had an immediate spark when they were forced together unexpectedly love rainy night when Sadie's friend and Mason's sister deserted them in lieu of work. After that, they couldn't stay away from each other. I read this pretty fast because I didn't want to put it down.
This book is even steamier in audio! Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke were absolutely perfect for these characters and gave an amazing performance in this story.
