So good

I loved the slow burn and even though it was really slow the story was so good I barely noticed. The build up was fantastic. It does end on a cliff hanger. Book 2, where are you?

I truly loved this book and cannot wait for the third. The characters in these books are so amazing also the author did such a good job. so ready to move on to the third book

Meh

This book had some interesting elements, particularly the storyline involving the main character’s brother and the Gages—that was where I found myself most invested. Unfortunately, the rest didn’t quite land for me. The “kidnapping” plot kicked off way too early, and it leaned heavily into the overdone trope of an unsuspecting human being taken by the Fae and becoming a kind of prisoner/non-prisoner.

There wasn’t much in the way of character development, which made it hard to feel connected or to root for anyone. The dynamic between the main character and her captor felt more like Stockholm Syndrome than anything truly romantic or compelling.

The ending did have a few twists that caught my attention, but not quite enough to make me want to continue the series. Overall, it was just okay—not terrible, but not something I’d revisit.

Captivating!

Delicious, quick and easy listen! I loved the narrator’s and endless banter. The characters were enjoyable and I can’t wait for the next installment.

I need to learn to not listen to the first book in a series when none of the others in the series have been released yet!
this book is well written with a good story and decent narrator. I can't wait for the next one!

Would it work?

I need to read if there are cliffhangers before I start a book in a series that isn’t complete haha. I was wondering how this was going to mesh with the fae/magical world and the “real” world and it was nicely done. This is my first read by Geneva Lee and I will read Filthy Rich Vampire next because I did enjoy this book!

the entire storyline….

This easily became my favorite book I’ve ever read. The characters have such strong personalities that you fall in love with. And the entire storyline keeps you on your toes and I never once got bored while reading this book I listened to the audiobook and finished it in three days.
