Another unfinished book

Another book with no ending- I’m done w these types of books and it’s going to have to absolutely blow me away to purchase the next book. Okay story, not enough magic for my taste, many lose ends through out.

Loved every second. Hard to put down. Twists and turns. Slow burn. Can’t wait for book 2!

Incredible!!

I usually prefer multi person audiobooks but I did enjoy the single person audio for this one. The narrator did a good job! It started off a little slow but didn't take too long to pick up. I loved the overall story and cannot wait for the audio on the second book to come out on the 19th!!

the narration was good but the story drug on until the last 3 chapters. also, I hate loche and have from day 1 so kind of hope that doesn't work out

Genuinely don’t know what to say. Loved every single minute of this. Narration was great. Writing, storyline, characters (and their development), world/realm building, all of it, was amazing. Desperate to get the next audio released, esp with both male and female narration.

Dying to know how these characters will eventually be reunited - the circumstances, location, immediate thoughts when they see eachother again, how do they reconnect - I NEED MORE!!!

Les, Merrick and Ardow fleeing on the ship feels a little like Celena boarding the ship to Wendoly.

A slow burn that actually slow burns

I had to keep switching between the audiobook and ebook because I did not want to stop reading.

The mystery is what pulled me in the most. There’s a lot we still don’t know, and I like that the story doesn’t give everything away upfront. There’s one big identity reveal, but even that only raised more questions. Other characters are clearly hiding things too, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that plays out in the rest of the series.

The love triangle was surprisingly well done. Both love interests felt like real options, and for most of the book I couldn’t pick a side. Now I’m leaning towards one in particular but I don’t doubt that I might find myself switching sides as it’s not super obvious who the fmc is going to end up with, While this one is minimally spicy (only one scene that is close to the end) there’s plenty of tension to keep it interesting.

The narrator was a great fit—easy to listen to and matched the tone of the story well.

🔥 Slow burn

I didn’t realize how badly I needed this book until I started it. I’d been in the middle of a reading slump for months, but this story grabbed me right away and refused to let go. The short, snappy chapters made it almost impossible to stop. I kept telling myself “just one more” and before I knew it, I’d flown through half the book in a sitting.

The voice actor for the audiobook deserves all the praise. 🏆 she brought so much life, emotion, and personality to the characters that it felt like I was living right there with them. Every beat of tension, every whisper of longing, every sharp twist of betrayal came through so vividly.

And the love interests… wow. I don’t think I’ve ever been this conflicted before. The writing (and performance) made each choice feel so real and so heart-wrenching that I was constantly second guessing myself. I still don’t know whose side I’m on and I love that the story kept me in that push and pull the whole way through...

This is hands down one of the best stories I’ve read in a long time. It reignited my excitement for books, and I can't wait to dive into the second book!

Great start

I really liked this book. It is the first of the series and I believe was a great first book. This is a political fantasy with some romance.

Elessia is a half-fae living amongst the humans. We learn about this new world with little pieces that is shared as the FMC is going through the trials for becoming the new regent of the land. She has to do things that she does not want to do and as she is fighting for her freedom and also truth you can’t help but fall for her character.

I believe there will be a little of a love triangle the further we get into the story and I sure have my hopes on who she will end up with.

While she is completing there are secrets that everyone is keeping. She has multiple and so do many of the other characters. Some of the plot twists are predictable but that never detours me. I really enjoyed this and will continue the series.

So so good! Finally, a fantasy that indulges the palette in THE best way! Suspense and romance. Constantly wondering which guy is THE guy? Who’s behind it all? How will this end?! Slow burn for sure, 🌶️ 1/5 in this first book. The dialogue isn’t filled with cuss words, which I appreciate. SO excited to start the next book!
