boring and confusing read

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This book was horrible- the entire story line was confusing. It took way to long to even get to the cruise

What do you think your next listen will be?

not sure yet

What didn’t you like about Shari Peele’s performance?

every character sounded the same

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointed

Really good first experience with audible.

The story was hallmark Brenda Jackson style. The reader used different tones to capture the group of characters. I'm enjoying this service. So nice to have my hands free.

Way Too Predictable-Pointless Read

What would have made The Secret Affair better?

There were no twists. There were really only three scenes in the entire book. I could've determined the middle & ending from the beginning of the book had I known in advance that it had no real substance.

What do you think your next listen will be?

My next listen will probably never be another Brenda Jackson novel. I'm so sorry to say that, because she mentioned FAMU in the book. I wanted to give her a good review just because, but the I just can't. The book was not boring. She's good at creating a scene, but the storyline is just awful.

Which character – as performed by Shari Peele – was your favorite?

None of them.

What character would you cut from The Secret Affair?

All of them.

Any additional comments?

The book was just all wrong. It could be summarized in three sentences.

I didn't stop until the book was finished...

The narrator kept me interested. I'm a sucker for a good romance book whether it's audible or old fashioned read from a book.

Nice story but....

Great story of love & patience. But the narrator had me confused as her male voices are mostly undiscernable from her female voices. At times the narrator mixed up her character voices as Julian sounded like Aiden & vice versa.
