Hard to listen to

I've actually read this book before. I had a particular picture in my head of the characters, how they looked, how they should sound. The narrator seemed to try too hard with the accents. The women's accents were too exaggerated, making it hard to envision them as beautiful and seductive. Zeke's accent was more foreign than Texan or one that would be recognized as being from New Orleans (no sex appeal). The narrator should have just used normal voices for the characters. Her impression of those accents diminished the listening experience .

Pleasant Story

Have to admit that I enjoy the male narrators MUCH MORE than the female ones. And the accents used in this story were really NOT on point. There is something that sounds weird when a woman tries to perform a hot steamy male voice. It just doesn't really work.

Nevertheless... this one was a pleasant enough story.

Great bool narrated by Reba Macintyre

There is not a book that Brenda Jackson writes that I don’t love and own. This is my first time listening to one of here books and I was a bit disappointed with the narrator. She sounds like the country singer Reba Macintyre. Story takes place in Texas so I get the county accent but I was thrown the whole book. I finished cause I ain’t no quitter.

Decent story. Terrible narrator.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator's voice.

How could the performance have been better?

The country twang made it difficult to enjoy the story.

Any additional comments?

I may have enjoyed the story more with a different narrator.

I love this Temptation!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend this audiobook because the story line is exciting and makes you believe that sometimes the most unlikely relationships can happen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was actually Sheila Hopkins because of her strong desire to be a mother to a baby that was not her own and the fact that she would love and fight to protect this child even when she knew that she wouldn't be able to keep her.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scenes that I enjoyed the most were the scenes try as he might, Zeke tried to deny his growing desire to have a relationship with Sheila, he just couldn't stay away or keep his hands off her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really liked this book and especially had a quick chuckle at Sheila and Zeke's initial chance encounter while passing on the road and the eventual meeting. This was a great book to read and to listen to, as I have both the audio and print copy of the book.

Horrible story continuity and male voice

The mail voice is extremely unpleasant and frankly sounds slow and witless. I couldn’t finish the book because of the annoying voice.

I'm tired

why are these characters falling in love after a week or 2? Why can't they have raunchy sex and date? this main character as so clingy/needy. I understand this is fiction but no one wants to be that damn insecure. all these men have big dicks as guaranteed orgasms. why can't these women ever be confident and experienced in bed? oh he captured her mouth...ok, why didn't she slap him? this stranger(cute or not) just stuck his tongue in your mouth. you don't know him. he could just had that same tongue in another woman's crotch. WTF. anyway... do any of these people do anal? no hair pulling? all this vanilla sex and falling instantly in love is pissing me off

Carrying our past, it's really our present

I love all of Brenda Jackson's books, I'm never disappointed. A story of Blackmail, child abandonment, sibling rivalry, loyalty, resolution and of course Love❤

These narrators 🤦🏽‍♀️

Why don’t authors understand
1. We prefer male narratives
2. If a narrator has consistent bad reviews book after book perhaps you should explore other options
The point: the main protagonist “Zeek” apparently moves from being a southerner to a... foreigner somewhere in chapter four.

NEEDS DIFFERENT NARRATOR

I honestly could not finish listening to this. First, the narrator reading the male part reminded me of a little kid trying to speak like a rough, tough cowboy. But when she forgot what voice she was supposed to be using in the middle of the dialogue, I was finished. I like Brenda Jackson but her choice of narrators can use some improvement.
