Publisher's Summary

Teresa "Toots" Amelia Loudenberry has crammed a great deal of living - not to mention eight much-loved husbands - into her varied and rewarding life. Newly single, Toots is ready to taste life again, and fate has just handed her the perfect opportunity.

The owner of the gossip rag where Toots's daughter works is about to lose the paper to his gambling debts. Eager to find a way to keep her daughter employed among the movers and shakers of Hollywood, Toots calls on her three trusted friends - Sophie, Mavis, and Ida - to help her pull some strings. Together, they'll hatch a plan that promises thrills, laughter, and more than a hint of danger. Putting aside her widow's weeds (black was never her color), Toots will prove that you should never underestimate a Southern lady of a certain age, and that each day can be a gift, if you're willing to claim it...

GREAT FUN

Would you consider the audio edition of The Scoop to be better than the print version?

LOVE THE GIRLS, LOVE THE PLOT. A GREAT TIME LISTENING!

What does Natalie Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

EXPRESSION. AUDIBLE BOOKS GIVES YOU MORE UNDERSTANDING OF THE CHARACTERS THAN READING. HAVING TAKEN EXPRESSION LESSONS AND DONE WHOLE PLAYS, I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE IT RELATES THE STORY MUCH BETTER TO THE CUSTOMER.

The scoop by Ferm Michaels

Enjoyable. Little disappointed in the ending that left the results up to the reader.

Couldn't find a character I liked

And as a non-smoker I found the constant references to smoking (I tried to count how many in a chapter at one point but there were just too many) ugly. I sort of like the daughter and stepson but overall I thought the main characters were shallow, mean spirited and not very bright. Then there was the ending. I kept going hoping for some resolution but there really wasn't any. The end was abrupt and was no more conclusive than some of the chapter endings. I enjoyed it so little that I'll be returning it.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes But as a start to a series.

Good but slow to start

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Book was a little busy and all over the place at first but the details were important. I just had hard time keeping interest a little at first. I enjoyed storyline and fact that it is an extension to people within the sisterhood I'm familiar with.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Thought it could have been stronger as I'm used to sisterhood Big Bang endings.

What about Natalie Ross’s performance did you like?

That she read the book to me period. Haha.

Was The Scoop worth the listening time?

Yes

Word to the Wise - Don't Waste A Credit

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Not sure who might enjoy this book. A friend listened to it as well, and wasn't impressed. We both like Fern Michaels, so we were greatly disappointed.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Vegas Rich by Fern Michaels

Any additional comments?

Too much fluff. Main character was irritating.

Delightful!

This is a truly uplifting little story full of warmth, wit, friendship and laughter, and Natalie Ross narrates it well. If you're looking for something light-hearted and fun to relax with, this is a good choice.
