Passionate and emotional narration...

This is the perfect example of how vital a good narrator is to an audiobook. This was an amazing experience!! Bianca Amato took me on an emotional journey through the life of Violet. I truly felt the nerves and paranoia of Violet on her wedding date. Her constant worry of being discovered. The all consuming love and passion she felt for Adrian. The devastation and heartbreak when he found out about the lies. I was Violet every minute of this story, that's how good this narrator is. So good in fact that I will skip the next book because I don't think there's salvation for the evil selfish wench of Jeanette and I don't really care if she gets a happily ever after. I will immediate start listening to the story about Kit and Eliza (The Husband Trap) that sounds very promising.

Yes the story is implausible. Twins that switch identities because the one that is getting married doesn't want to and the other one happens to be secretly in love with the groom from the moment she laid eyes on him. But the narration is so good that it takes you through a vivid emotional journey and turns a good story into an unforgettable experience. Absolutely worth a credit!!

WONDERFUL BOOK!

I am a LOVER of history fiction novels of this time period, but of late have stop reading them because they are often cookie cutter and just "drag" you along for a ride you KNOW where it is going to end up. The only reason I gave this a change is the awards that it received. I have to admit I do not know what RITA is, but plan to look up, so that I might find other novels of this magnitude.

This is BY FAR the best history fiction novel I have read in recent history (no pun intended). It was well written. It was well narrated. Its plot was wonderful. The characters are so well developed, I feel like I know them on a personal basis. The only thing it was lacking was ... NOTHING!

Quite erotic- more like a "bodice ripper"

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I ordered this book thinking it might be imitation Georgette Heyer and thus a comedy of manners with a love story plot - which is what "Regency Romances" used to be years ago. Other reviewers described it as historical fiction, which reinforced that idea. Most historical fiction fades to black when the characters go to bed - this book follows them there with lots of purple prose. If you are looking for erotica, you might enjoy this!

Would you ever listen to anything by Tracy Anne Warren again?

Probably not.

Which scene was your favorite?

There is a good scene where our heroine fires the housekeeper.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Husband Trap?

I would have cut the lovemaking scenes, and just alluded to their marital bliss.

Any additional comments?

P.S. Our account is in my husband Paul's name, but this review was written by a women - I can't imagine a straight man listening to this!

Enjoyable 'Bodice Ripper'

I'm a sucker for Historical Romance books and this one definitely delivered. It's your typical romance book with a few twists and turns. Most of the story is completely predictable but it's still very enjoyable. The beginning was a little slow but it quickly heats up. The narrator was wonderful as well. Definitely worth a credit but I'm glad I got this one on sale.

Loved It

I absolutely love these books. I've only listened to the two released on Audible, but after this one, I think I'll have to purchase the other books from Amazon and actually read....The narrator is very good as well in my opinion, I wish she read more of these types of books, her voice is pleasant and smooth, almost calming. She does a male voice very well, unlike other narrators that tend to growl the male parts. A very good listen. If you're a fan of Lisa Kleypas or Julie Garwood historicals, you be pleased with this purchase.

Loveable Story

Okay, so the premise of this book is that identical twins trade places at the alter and no one, not even their immediate family, notices the switch before, during, or after the ceremony. So of course the basic premise of this book is a bit unbelievable, and therefore problematic. But if you can manage to get over that—which I did—you will really enjoy this story. One of the things I love about this book is that throughout it, the heroine, Violet, manages to put on a brave face while constantly dealing with insecurities. What woman can't identify with that? If you're looking for a fun, light, entertaining read this may be the perfect book for you. I'm definitely planning on getting the other books in the series.

Tracy Anne Warren is a wonderful writer, and Bianca Amato did an excellent job as narrator.

A Very Pleasant surprise!

If you could sum up The Husband Trap in three words, what would they be?

Fun Witty Adorable

What did you like best about this story?

The Author did a beautiful job developing these characters. I will be going to book 3, (I can't wait for Kits story)! The sex scenes are well thought out and readable. The narrator I think did a good job of depicting all of the characters.

What does Bianca Amato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I actually really enjoyed her male voices. Those aren't easy to find for me. Maybe because my husband has a deep sensual voice I am a little prejudiced in finding good female voices (wink wink) to be able to also depict a male. She did well!!

If you could take any character from The Husband Trap out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Kit because he is just so darned funny can't wait to see how he matures.

Any additional comments?

I found this book to be a pleasant surprise for the $4.95 price, I thought I'll "bite" I am glad I did found an author I enjoy and narrator I will look for again. I will buy her others for sure. I don't know how she can possibly pull a likeable character out of the "evil" twin. It will be interesting to see and I say again I can't wait for KIts story so off I go to get the next 2 books LOL.

Don't like how long the lies lasted

Not a fan of deceit. But that's my personal preference. Skipped the whole story until the Duke found out. After that it is when the real romance began and it was great. For those of you who also dislike a relationship based on lies, the real stuff starts in chapter 16.

It dragged a bit...

I was looking forward to this story, the concept being fun. Unfortunately, it just dragged. The beginning of the story was sweet, the time spent together on their honeymoon. Parts in the middle highlighted the heroine gaining more confidence. However, there was a large part of the book that didn't offer much in the way if character development or events relevant to the relationship. Then just when you think the heroine is finished being a victim... The last 2 chapters of the books... Then all the sudden all was good and the end...
