The story was well written and the author understands lasting effects of bad childhood s.

But the narrator! 😬

First review here. That’s how compelled I was. I never got completely into the story. Maybe it was the narrator. Maybe it was the story. But from the moment I heard the narrator say “thuitor “ instead of suitor I could not unhear the lisp. Maybe skip this one.

I happen to know that there are 3 more books dealing with the 4 horemen of the apocalypse.

I enjoyed this book

I enjoyed this book and found myself laughing a few times. The beginning was delightful and I generally like the development of the characters. the main characters were well matched and I'm happy that they got together. Past the middle of the book it it dragged a little but the ending was good. I enjoyed it overall.

The narrator was good in my opinion. I listened to to book it at a faster speed and it made it perfect for me.

Waaaay too many misunderstandings

The story was okay. but the characters were so frustrating. it seemed that no one did the right thing at the right time. I know a plot needs some ups and downs to keep it moving, but this was just too much!

The worst Tessa dare novel that I've ever read...

...and I've read most of them. Insipid and unlikable female lead, amateur writing, awful storyline, and it drags on for ages. Truly her worst novel. I love her work normally, so this was an abject disappointment.

“Lovely”

This book is really good.. the characters are very likable.. I can’t wait to listen to the next one in this series and the narrator is wonderful bringing the characters to life

narrator almost ruined it for me

loved the story. I'm a huge fan of Tessa Dare and I always love her female leads. I also love that no matter how many of her stories I read they are all different. the only downfall was the narrator. she has this lisp that was distracting to me, almost to the point of giving up on listening to it at all. it could totally just be me but I could never quite tone it out. it's better sped up, which is how I listen to them, but still there.

Terrible narration

The narrator has a horrible lisp which is too distracting to enjoy the story! Ugh! Do better Audible!
