Publisher's Summary

Tom Kedrick is hired by a financial syndicate to run off a gang of vagrants and outlaws who are occupying a sizable strip of land that the syndicate has filed, claiming it is unusable swamp. To Kedrick's dismay, these "vagrants and outlaws" turn out to be hard working ranchers and farmers who have improved the lands they have claimed and are determined to resist any effort to disenfranchise them.

Narration & Performance.

When Louis l’Amour rides them, they’re generally good
stories. When Grover Gardner performs them, they’re generally great stories!

Showdown on the Hogback

I typically love Louis L’amour stories. This one seemed a bit all over the place. The performance was good, but not exceptional.

It wasn’t until certain parts that I recognized that I’d heard/read it before.

I don’t want to be buy the same story told by different readers. This isn’t the first time. A little heads up please.

Reliably Louis L'Amour

Typical western. I listen to these when I want strong characters in good against evil stories. Narrator was perfect for a western.

Vintage L'Amour

I liked this book when I read it (many) years ago. As I remember, the story, the Audio book has the same flavor. For me, it come across as nostalgia on the go. I grew up on L'Amour, and I have several of his (Audio) books. The audio books give me the chance to relive the "old west" in a new way. I'm satisfied with all the 'Audio Books' I've downloaded so far. My advice is "Give it a try". I won't say its 5 stars, cause nothin's perfect, but it's a good listen.
