Publisher's summary

It’s Christmas, and Jenny Checkland is beset with problems. The vicar, who really should know better, has asked to borrow Marilyn the donkey for the nativity play, thereby unleashing chaos on the already chaos-laden Frogmorton Farm.

Will Marilyn survive her bath? Will anyone survive Marilyn’s bath?

Robbed of her role as the Virgin Mary, what revenge is the angel Gabriel plotting? Why is that sheep so fat?

Will Charlie ever get to say his one line? Can Marilyn be prevented from eating the baby Jesus? Where is Thomas, who promised he would be there? And worst of all - will Russell, lost on the moor in a blizzard, make it back in time for the birth of his first child? Or even at all?

Another chance to meet the characters from the best-selling novel The Nothing Girl as they navigate the complexities of the local nativity play in their own unique fashion.

Delightful and entertaining

As always, the shorts burst of insight to the characters from Jodi Taylor bring about a smile and a once in a while out loud laughter. Bringing everyday mundane to life with a strike of humor that allows the reader/listener to have hope in and for humanity.

Sweet Christmas story

A nice continuation of the Frogmorton story. It won't make sense unless you've listened to The Nothing Girl first.

An enchanting Christmas tale!

such a wonderful Christmas story based on the the characters and world of The Nothing Girl by Jodi Taylor. When something happens to the donkey normally used by the local church for their Christmas pageant Throckmorton farms agrees to let them use their miniature donkey Marilyn. More chaos ensues on the already chaotic farm as they try to prepare Marilyn for her upcoming role in the play.

This is a charming and heartwarming story that I will listen to every Christmas for years to come. Lucy Price-Lewis is the perfect narrator for this short story.

Funny and Heartwarming

Pull out the ginger biscuits and tea for a wonderful story story. Jodi Taylor creates a funny story with an emotional ending. My favorite part was three men giving a donkey a bath in an porcelain tub while the girls ate cake and drank tea. The humor was spot on and Lucy Prices Lewis gives excellent voice in her narration.

I highly recommend Little Donkey.

Loving story about people and their animals.

The narrator is fabulous. Loved the horse and all the other animals. It was very nice to hear another story about these characters.

Merry (if unorthodox) Christmas!

All the gang is back for a cheery and cheering story at Christmas. There's warmth, joy and hope aplenty.

Fun Short Story with Heart . . . 😱

A cute and entertaining short one hour story about Christmas, a nativity scene, a new marriage with a new baby nearly here . . . and a mysterious visitor from the pregnant wife/mother-to-be. Worth the brief listen this short story takes. 😱

Jodi Taylor does it again with this short story!

This was a wonderful short Christmas story set between the first 2 Frogmorton books. (Hopefully there will more.) The characters are back to give us just a taste of what happened after the eventful ending of the first book. This story answered a few questions that were left unanswered in "The Nothing Girl" - definitely read that first. Loved it!
