Publisher's Summary

Coming out is easier when you've got someone by your side. At least that's how the hyper-private Quinn Kincaid sees it. When her publicist suggests a good old-fashioned sham of a Hollywood relationship, Quinn reluctantly agrees. And that's how the star of Jordan's Appeal, TV's highest rated legal drama, ends up with a fake girlfriend - the very real, very sexy, and very gay soap star Lacey Matthews.

In Casting Lacey, Elle Spencer gives us a hilarious new take on a classic storyline, complete with nosy mothers, fawning assistants, and two beautiful actresses who might learn about true love. If they don't kill each other first.

I’m not crying, you are.

I’ve never laughed out loud to a book as much as I had with this book. I also found myself fighting back tears, of sadness and joy. The characters, lead and supportive, were so genuine. The situation was hard to fathom, but still believable. The strong language added to the believability.
The narrator was great. I loved the Boston accent! I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading/listening to more of Elle Spencer’s work. The best audible purchase I’ve made, thus far.

Serious. Wow.

Legitimately one of the most moving romance novels I've ever read, and hilarious to boot!

Just perfect!!

First of all, I was dubious. I was wrong.

Narration was the best I have heard in a while. Melissa Moran made the characters exactly who they should be with not one misstep.

But Elle Spencer took a tired and silly premise and turned out romantic comedy gold! From the first page, the dialog is so real and conversational that I felt like I was eavesdropping. The characters truly evolve into who they need to be for the relationship to work over the entire course of the novel, which spans a year. Every time I thought “here comes the plot cliche”, she went a different direction. It’s so well done. I will likely listen to it again in a couple weeks. It’s that good.

Words + Narrator = Fricking Aaaamazing!

HILARIOUS! One could suggest “it’s been done before,” but this author made accidents make sense and what could have been a hole, slide right by without the listener feeling cheated. From the first passage, people I’d walk by ask why I was grinning so hard. I listened while trying to fall asleep, but couldn’t because I was laughing so hard. Near the end was painful, but what a GREAT story.

Angst

On and on and on...jeez.
Author dabbled in the love making, which annoys me. I enjoyed the story, but it could had been so much better. A hallmark movie comes to mind.

Perfect choice of narrator, incredible story, well worth a listen/read. Just wish the TV show in this book was real, would definitely watch.
