A year ago, Kate Corbin had a handsome boyfriend and a budding career as a reporter at a popular Chicago newspaper. But after the death of the woman who raised her, she fell into a rut and never got out. Now she's stuck writing fluff pieces about lipstick and wine and feeling trapped in a relationship that's going nowhere. Kate's boss gives her an intriguing assignment: spend a week interviewing R. J. Lawson, a modern-day Howard Hughes who recently reemerged as the owner of a well-respected Napa winery. But when she alienates Lawson, her only saving grace is Jamie, a charming vineyard hand who shows her the beauty of wine country - and stirs her aching heart. It doesn't take long for Kate and Jamie to fall hard and for Kate to rethink her life in the city. But the week ends with a heartbreaking journey back to Chicago that sends Kate reeling, wondering what went wrong in those four perfect days.

All parts were wonderful. Hope there will be more from this author. The narrators are terrific. A feel good book. Unexpected but expected all at the same time!

Kate the journalist travels to a winery to interview the elusive JR Lawson, but he meets her as Jamie the farmhand.
Serendipitous love sizzles slow and hot till she finds out and feels betrayed.

“Love is not work. Love is a feeling, pure and simple. It’s a feeling you can have one moment, in which you believe you could throw yourself in front of a speeding train for someone; and it can vanish the next, when they tear your heart out and steal every last beat for themselves.”

“I don’t know what I’ll do if I fall in love with him.”
“If you fall, let him catch you.””

Renee spotlights the problems of living with Diabetes, tracking jabbing every day.
It was predictable from page one. I figured out everything, but still made me emotional. Partly because the narration by Amy Landon & Zach Villa was beautiful

The narrator made this story almost intolerable. I couldn’t stand her. Her voice and “attitude” was awful. It made the protagonist seem like an absolute moron. I finally returned the audible version and read the rest of it. Reading the book was a completely different experience. She was much more likable - still frustrating but redeemable. Save your audible credit and pick this up on Kindle instead.

Do these authors bet their narrators at all!
