Publisher's Summary

After sending his army to besiege another king's capital, King David forces himself on Bathsheba, a loyal soldier's wife. When her resulting pregnancy forces the king to murder her husband and add her to his harem, Bathsheba struggles to protect her son while dealing with the effects of a dark prophecy and deadly curse on the king's household.

Combining historical facts with detailed fiction, Angela Hunt paints a realistic portrait of the beautiful woman who struggled to survive the dire results of divine judgment on a king with a divided heart.

Loved it!

Wonderfully told story of Bathsheba and King David. It was told through the eyes of Bathsheba and the prophet Nathan. "Bathsheba" was as good as her book "Ester". Angela Hunt is a gifted writer of biblical fiction. Although considered fiction, it is fact-based and very accurate. Highly recommend this inspiring story.

Outstanding in every way!!

From the writing by the Author to the reading by the narrators, this book is outstanding! Absolutely flawless. I was lost in the story!! I felt not only like I was actually there watching all that happened but recognized my sinfulness in the greed, jealousy and selfishness of some of the characters. Its so easy to look back and say "I would never have..." But this book makes it clear that we are all sinful and in need of a loving God and more than that, to seek and obey Him!! Listen to this book and enjoy all it has to teach you about yourself. I feel as if I personally met Bathsheba. Kudos to the author.

Well worth reading.

Excellent read. Very enjoyable in depth novel depicting the story of Bathsheba, the beloved queen of King David.

Angela Hunt has done it again with her talented skill in her added dramatized writing about characters of the the men and women of the Bible, during the time of the rule of kings, while keeping it real with its truths.

Makes one think of Bathsheba from a different perspective. It also makes one wonder about Solomon's influence in Africa.

Deeply satisfying

I have listened to many audiobooks, mostly in the genre of historical fiction, often revealing the untold stories of powerful women throughout History. This telling of the story of Bathsheba was deeply satisfying because it developed her character and personality, as well as describing the era and circumstances in which she lived in an entirely believable way, inspiring my compassion and imagination. The story focused on Bathsheba, her family, King David and kept to the historical facts. There were perhaps a few too many characters which complicated the story, but it never lost my interest!
