I’ll stick to real voices

The narration was ok. Just ok. I wouldn’t pay for it again. Sometimes the inflections were off. I had to think about it several times when there could have been different meanings because the voice was pretty much flat even though each character had a different tone.

Beautiful story

Again, once I started listening, I didn’t want to stop. You can really see and feel this story. I was right there with the characters the whole way through.

Great Story once I could get over the reading

I learned to ignore the virtual voice after a while but then I would wince anytime there was a mis pronunciation or weird inflection. Great story, just wish a real person was reading it.

Captivating Storyline

I wasn’t sure about the first part of this book but once I got into it, I enjoyed it more than anything I’ve read in quite a while!

Interesting characters & storyline…

Story quickly got my interest due to very real characters with depth & substance. AI narration took a while to get used to, but the historical focus grabbed my attention, so the voice became secondary. Anika’s story, at first far fetched, was written in a way that made it believable, especially when woven within church history with factual characters/actual history. As I progressed in the story, I became caught up in seeing the outcome for the major characters, so tasks needing more concentration went undone for today!

great story, disappointing narration

Angela Hunt always weaves glorious detail and heart into her characters and stories. but the Virtual voice used for this narration did not allow this story to shine the way the author's tales usually do pronunciation was off, inflection was off and without the change in voices that most narrators offer at times the story was monotonous.

Good Story Line

if you love history, romance, and courage, this it! Themes of truth, hope and human frailty tell this worthy tale.

interesting historical fiction

Angela Hunt dives deep into history & brings to it to life. this was the days of Jan Hus, Czechoslovakian, theologian, that took on the dishonest Catholic Church of that time. definitely an improvement of the virtual narrative, but still emotions & necessary, pauses are missing! I do so enjoy Angela Hunt incredible work though.

Characters. Setting. Plot and pacing. What’s not to love? Hunt promises peril, courage, vengeance, love, and sacrifice - and she delivers. You won’t regret taking this journey with Anika of Prague!

Narration annoying but story fascinated me

As a Lutheran, I found this historic revelation surprising; I recognized Jan Huss’s teachings as similar to Luther’s and therefore to my own beliefs. It makes sense that Luther also related to what Huss wrote- but I appreciate the Epilogue dispelling thoughts of plagiarism!

The love story was inevitable and sweet, but again, it was lovely to read that this couple did marry. Somehow Angela Hunt draws me into her stories while educating me. I appreciate this- thanks!

The AI narration was annoying, stilted, and filled with erratic sentences. I kept going because of the story itself.
