Good short romance read!

This was a pretty good, but short romance novel. It was well worth the time and was fairly lighthearted and entertaining. I felt as if the characters could have been a bit less shallow and the plot could have been a bit deeper than it was. But all in all, it was worth the read/listen. The reader did a good job with the difference voices and made the story better. I would recommend this book to anyone that is into short romance novels.

Good Quick Read

This was a very intriguing quick read. The mystery that surrounds the lead characters certainly kept me engaged and waiting to find out what happens. I was unaware at the time that this is the fourth in a series, I do not think that it took away from the story of this book. I imagine that reading the books in order will provide more back story on the secondary characters, but I do not feel that there was anything I did not understand for lack of reading the first three.

The narration was good and made it feel that you were in a castle. I would certainly recommend this book for a quick afternoon read if you are looking for some romance, intrigue, backstabbing and mystery.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Second Chance at Love

This was a great historical romance! This book was packed with drama, mystery, romance, and loss. I thought the characters were well developed and I loved the plot. Both Lucas and Natalia had strong, independent personalities. Natalia and Lucas have history and undeniable chemistry, but they have to be able to overcome and forget the past in order to move forward. It was nice that it ended with a HEA after what each character had gone through.
Penny did an amazing job with this narration! I loved the different voices and accents that she used for each character. Her performance had me hooked from beginning to end!

Love at first sight...

You have to be a serious lover of love at first sight books for this one, and personally I'm not. The story itself was good as well as the narrarator but I HATED any time the two main characters were together. I received my copy free of charge for an unbiased review and thus I have been as honest as possible in my scoring. For me personally it would be a 1 star all the way through, but I do understand that some people like this set up and thus tried to score fairly.

Earl In Trouble

Attending a house party with friends Lucas never expects to run into the lady that stole his heart 9 years earlier. Natalia never expects to see the only man shes ever had feelings for. But here he is. And all she seek is information form his friends and plans to leave. Only the fates have different plans for these too. Another great story by Dawn Brower. The narration by Penny Scott-Andrews was wonderful and so were her characters.

Ooh Lucas

I think I say this every time but this time I mean it, Lucas Carter. Earl of Darcy is probably my favorite. He’s loyal head strong and knows wat he wants. he’s definitely met his match I’m Lia. She’s is a also head strong and independent but to the extreme. There story is quite the adventure in how far Darcy is willing to go to have Lia. Definitely enjoyed and recommend

Another delightful listen

There is nothing like lost love and finding the one that got away. Here is a story of one strong lady running scared, living the man she loves for his safety and finding that love again. It is a true romance that leaves your heartbreaking for these two. It was a delightful story filled with anger and passion. Love the ending

The narrator did a nice job delivering a delight story that holds your attention. She gives wonderful emotion that makes you chuckle and at times wanting to go in a give a few people a piece of your mind. Her character voices are very good, there are no repeating of words, no background and no volume changes. You always know who is talking and what they are feeling.

This was a delightful listen that I truly enjoyed very much.

Fantastic Narration; Okay Story

I only just recently read another one of Dawn Brower's books, Infinitely Marquess, so I was excited when I had to opportunity to read another one of her lovely books.

The narration of this book was absolutely fantastic. At first I didn't think I would like it (the book opens with a bunch of male characters speaking, and I initially found it hard to distinguish them apart) but as the book went on, I found I loved it.

Not only was the narration fantastic, but also Brower's writing. I always say that if I can notice the writing in an audiobook that it is good, because it's harder to listen to writing than it is to read writing. This book was certainly no exception.

The thing I didn't like about this book? I hated Lucas. There was just too many times that he said or did something that bordered on creepy, and I just couldn't get behind that. His character changed multiple times throughout the book, and I just didn't like him with Leah. It's personal preference, but it's the reason why I'm only giving the book three stars.

Earl in Trouble

A short regency romance about a second chance at love. Almost a decade had passed, and Lucas never got over his feelings for Lia. Now she’s come back into his life but will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their way and be together?

This was an enjoyable, quick listen written by Dawn Brower and narrated by Penny Scott-Andrews.
