Publisher's summary

She’s been held at gunpoint, stuck in a burning dumpster, chased out of a grocery store, caught impersonating a police officer, and almost run over by a wayward vehicle. How is that for a first day on the job as an amateur sleuth? Along with her friend, Annie Mae, Cat investigates the brick-paved, oak-lined streets of Savannah to find their friend’s murderer. To say the very least, it is not smooth sailing for these self-appointed detectives. Will they catch the killer before the killer gets them? Or will their first case be their last?

Find out in the first volume of the Georgia Coast Cozy Mystery series, Dying for Dinner Rolls, which combines mystery, suspense, humor, and Southern charm.

Enjoyable cozy

Enjoyable little cozy read through Whispersync/Immersion reading. The narrator does a great job of voicing all the different characters.

The book is populated by zany, quirky characters with the main ones being members of the Chubby Chicks Club. One of their members die and two members, Cat and Anna Mae, work together to prove it wasn't a suicide and to solve the murder. The Quirky and appealing nature of these characters makes it possible to overlook the few implausible parts of the story while some of the situations they find themselves in are truly funny.

If you can ignore the authors racial stereotypeing

Author stereotypes everyone and it really gets on my nerves but if you get past that. Its an enjoyable book. It took me a few times to start it but once I did and really listened to what was going on I really liked it.

Watch out for these two amateur sleuths, this was filled with mayhem and laughs to enjoy, the narration was good, given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Dying for Dinner Rolls

In this cozy mystery, a woman is murdered in her home. THinking it a suicide, the police declined to investigate. The main character's father had recently been murdered and she was unwilling to accept suicide as an option.

I thought this was a well-done mystery, packed with loads of entertainment in under 5 hours.

Ms. Rustin did a great job of narrating.

I look forward to the next installment!

Dying for Dinner Rolls

Enjoyable mystery that was well narrated.

The main character is still smarting from the recent murder of her father, seeing connected crime and suspects everwhere. Turns out, she wasn't completely wrong!

This is another ordinary-people-solve-crimes series, which I happen to like. If that isn't your thing, you may not like this series
