Story
For nearly one hundred years the magi have co-existed in a forced peace, the black order ruling and those in red robes settling for their subservient role. This peace, however, is threatened when the young protege, Ayres, defies the order and assumes the forbidden white robes. When a break-away sect within the black order begins to gain power, marking themselves with an ancient anti-magi symbol, Ayres and his childhood companions take it upon themselves to uncover the true meaning behind the movement. Hunted by the black magi and struggling to master the white arts he has recently discovered, Ayres must return to the tower that nearly claimed his life, setting off a series of events that could destroy not only himself and the Order, but everything that exists.

No one's afterlife is as depressing as Audrey's - at least that's what she believes after waking up dead without her memories and being promptly assigned to hunt demons for the rest of eternity. She's convinced there's been a cosmic mistake; after all, she'd rather discuss the color of her nails than break them on angelic weapons. It doesn't help that her trainer, Logan, is as infuriating as he is attractive. Publisher's Summary
A haunting journey into the worlds of voodoo and druidry.
Joni had always been fascinated by the history of her family’s old antebellum plantation. Her ancestor’s journals were filled with stories, many involving two slave girls, the older of whom was deeply involved in the “red magic” of the Bokors.
When Messalina returns from the grave on a quest of vengeance, Joni must confront the wickedness of her own family’s past, while also embracing a truth even more ancient—that she is descended from a line of Druids. Joni is the only one who stands between Messalina and her insidious plans.
Druidess takes listeners on a thrilling journey into the world of Celtic and Native American mythology, voodoo, and an eternal realm where all magic—good and evil alike—has its origins. Druidess is filled with shocking plot twists, compelling characters, and features a strong female hero. Druidess introduces the Gates of Eden (GoE) universe. It is a prequel to both the Druid Legacy (Elijah Wadsworth) and the Voodoo Legacy (Annabelle Mulledy). Monroe’s Druidess is sure to keep listeners enthralled from start to finish.

fantastic!
This prequel fills in a lot of missing little details and helps explain some things from the main story. Theo is an amazing writer who is great at what he does. I highly recommend this book to help you understand the main story line or to give you an idea as to what the rest of his books are like.

Souls of the dead... vengeance and magic
Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Narrated beautifully by Kelley Hazen, presents Joni, a having a deep interesting desire to know her family's history of the plantation home but she hadn't realized that this past would end up involving the spirits of the long dead and discovering that she herself has a connection to the mysterious and mythical druids. A snarky clash of paranormal souls in a story that works nicely as a gateway not only for Joni if the reader continues her journey in the Gates of Eden series but also carves a path to learn more about voodoo magic in the series Voodoo Academy as well.

Great story
Loved the story. It was interesting and kept me entertained. The story isn’t something that I have read or listened to before. It has great world building in it and the characters were interesting and had me wanting to know more about them. The narrator did a really good job bringing them to life and distinguishing each one as their own person. The audiobook was well done in my opinion. The author provided me a promo code and this is my honest review.

Another well-written story from a good author
Druidess (The Wadsworth Legacy ), my nineteenth read from author Theophilus Monroe and the first book of a new series. Another well-written & enjoyable read/listen. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. 5-hours 16-minute/167 pages in length. Kelley Hazen, who narrated his Gates of Eden series, again adds to the enjoyment of this book. I look forward to my next read from this author and in this series. Fascinating Prequel
This was an interesting introduction to the "Gates Of Eden" universe and a prequel to two different series. I was entertained by Theophilus Monroe's humorous and irreverent way of presenting his story. I enjoyed the characters and liked seeing characters, from other series of the author, being part of this new material. Kelley Hazen's narration was fun and entertaining. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Great story and different
Druidess is a different kind of fantasy, from what I’ve read before.
It starts out traditionally: it’s about a young girl and learning she is magical. The story is a prequel to another series. I did like the story. It moved along nicely.
There were times it was definitely more geared toward younger readers. I am not as into ya as I used to be, so a few times I rolled my eyes, but overall it was an interesting read.
I am going to give the next book a try as well.
