Publisher's Summary

Gonzalo Guerrero and his mom survived the Great Tsunami of La Palma in 2029 when he was only four. Almost his entire family disappeared in the tragedy. Only Gonzalo and his mom kept afloat during the horrific wave that killed almost two million people around the world.

Now, they have a bigger issue. She has lost her memory as a consequence of the traumatic brain injury she suffered during the cataclysm. Trapped in the present, there’s no other past or future for her in this world. However, since time travel is available, they could learn from the future in the same way they learn from the past.

This book can be used as a cross-curricular material or potential listening material to help high schoolers understand complicated subjects while promoting collaboration among teachers. While most are considering The Ancestor in the Mirror a stand-alone NA novel, this book is also an educational material to prompt questions that teachers can address during their instruction and debates.

The author does a great job

In The Ancestor, in the Mirror the listener is transported to a different world, literally. We are brought into the future of 2048 where time travel is possible and chocolate no longer exists. Good one.

This is absolutely the best audio-book

This is an intriguing, mind-bending narrative that will help students to think critically and build their interest in both history and the sciences. The Ancestor in the Mirror has a high re-readability factor since the ending reveals key information that would have affected how one listens to the story early on.

This audible is very well explained

The author does a great job of explaining the bounds and limits of the sci-fi elements in a concise exposition that feels natural and intriguing. It is a riveting study of how the human psyche and perspective change through generations but also how the simplest selfish action could change an entire world. I recommend taking a peek at this engaging novel!!

I highly recommended this audiobook.

An interesting science fiction audiobook about people's experiences traveling through time. Both futuristic and historical, the book weaves an interlacing tale of friends and family whose lives cross during different time periods and how this leads to a final result. Interesting plot as well as interesting information about past events.

A comprehensive guide with proper understanding

The real story of the arrival of the first Europeans among the Maya in 1511 and how a tragedy become a love story is just one of the multiple timelines this amazing book explores. Highly recommended.

Excellent!!

In layers of what this author refers to as a multiverse of thirteen worlds, Mendez Machin draws our attention to a conflict between science and mysticism. A must-have!!
