Publisher's summary

More than 24 hours of Druids, dragons, demigods, and danger fill this modern Arthurian epic omnibus set!

Legacies are forged through sacrifice.

Book 1: Druid’s Dance (newly revised/edited edition)

Elijah Wadsworth lost his parents and twin sister in what he thought was little more than a tragic accident. But five years later, when Elijah begins manifesting strange abilities—which he neither understands nor can control—he discovers his family has been at the center of a cosmic battle for centuries...and his family's death was likely no accident at all. A mysterious "girl in black" with dark magical abilities pursues him, hoping to lure him to her cause.

After coming into possession of a mystical stone, which transports Elijah into his deceased father’s ancient memories, Elijah and his closest friends must discover the source of his power together, lest his newfound abilities drain his very soul, and open up our world to the blight of Samhuinn. When a girl he loves, however, is threatened, he must make a choice to either save her by joining the sorceress, the "girl in black", or save the world.

Book 2: Bard’s Tale

The Tree of Life—the source of Elijah’s power—is failing. Creatures from Samhuinn are breaking through the veil and terrorizing St. Louis. As the Tree weakens, Elijah’s abilities are failing. Will Elijah be able to stop the incursions before his powers fade completely?

Book 3: Ovate’s Call

Elijah’s Ovate—Tyler—is visited by a strange, but alluring, princess from Annwn. He's immediately captivated by her—but Elijah fears the princess has ulterior motives. Is the princess who she claims to be, or is she another pawn in the Morrigan's scheme? The cosmic struggle between Elijah, his Order, and the Morrigan and her legions comes to a head in the final installment of the Gates of Eden: the Druid Legacy Trilogy.

Listeners of Theophilus Monroe’s Voodoo Academy from the Gates of Eden: The Voodoo Legacy series will naturally adore the Druid Legacy.

An engaging Arthurian modern fantasy! Great value!

Theophilus Monroe writes an engaging Arthurian modern fantasy in the Gates of Eden series. This is an amazing value! A wonderful story overall, the plot moves at a good pace, and the characters are well written, likeable, and you want them to succeed. I look forward to more from Mr. Monroe. Audio Version: William Turbett does a good job with the characters and overall narration. It sounds like he had a good time with these books!

Fantasy at its best

I really enjoyed this series The author made the story flow very well. It's filled with strong characters and plenty of magic. The story follows Elijah Wadsworth. He lost his parents and sister in a tragic accident. He is adopted by his friend Tylers parents and he had a pretty happy life until strange powers started to emerge. Tyler, Emille & Elijah have to figure out what his powers mean. When Elijah finds a magic stone things start to fall into place. Then a girl in black starts following him & she has strange magic as well. Many strange things happen to the friends will have many encounters to come. Their journey will be full of new friends, danger, new foes including the Morgan and new relationships. Elijah hopes for answers and an idea of what his future will be. I listened to the audio version and the narrator was absolutely fantastic. This is a great read for any fantasy lover.

A family tragedy, complex magical secrets

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Narrated beautifully by William Turbett, who is a great fit to bring his charming adventure to life. Elijah has been through so much with already losing his family... he never could imagine all the odd secrets and abilities he'd discover about himself. With his friends and mysterious girl, Elijah embarks on an adventure that will his life... and those he cares about most. Highly recommended.

So good

This set of books is so good! Exactly what I’ve come to expect from Theophilus Monroe. After reading this set, I realized I have been reading this world in reverse, and now want to read the series’ again in order. The narrator does a fantastic job of giving the characters their own voices.

Very captivating story

The performance of the narrator was great. He made perfect use of his voice (and special effects on a rare occasion that suits the story perfectly) but sometimes I struggled to distinguish the voices of people, when -to me at least but I have hearing problems- I felt like the difference in the voices/persons would fade away a bit but never enough that it would kick you out of the storyline or be otherwise annoying.

The storyline is epic. Golden. Fantasy at it’s best. Love druids and all the myths and legends. And humor as well. Loved the characters and I know I will definitely listen to this complete ‘The Druid Legacy’ set + ‘The Rise of the Morrigan’ again more than once!

Great mix between storytelling and mythology

I started really liking this author thanks to a different series (The Voodoo Queen), but then I found out he has multiple series in the same universe and the characters cross paths a lot. So I decided to listen to all of this books, chronologically. Each series reminds me about his academic background, because there is a mixture of philosophy, mythology and history in each of his books. At the same time, he creates really believable characters - the main character here, Elijah, is proof of that: he is both a „hero” AND a teenage boy. I love how the author matures his characters with each step through the story. Overall, great series, if you are fascinated by druids or that part of history, this is definitely the series for you!

A great listen.

Loved this collection of tales about the druid Elijah Wadsworth and his order. Take a trip through time and dimensions. Take a ride on a dragon, fall in love, and travel to Camelot. These are just a few of the journeys you'll take with Elijah. A wonderful collection.

Good but not great

I started Theophilus Monroe's Gates of Eden series out of order, listening to Voodoo Legacy first. I absolutely loved it and decided to start at the beginning.

The Druid Legacy was good but I had a hard time keeping up with all the whats, whens, whos, and whys. That could be because this series didn't hold my attention as well as the Voodoo Legacy or Druidess.

The narrator was good but not always consistent with his pronunciation. Regarding Tyler's plaid clothing, he started the series pronouncing it "pladd" but it became "played" by the end.

As for the bonus Rise of the Morrigan, it was interesting. I liked finding out her backstory. I was confused by the MMC changing names. I think I must have missed something along the way.

Overall it was a good series and I do recommend it.

I received a free copy of the audiobook and this is my honest review.
