Publisher's summary

Workaholic insurance attorney Luke Darringer has it all: money, looks, ambition. Sure, he hasn’t taken a vacation in over a decade, and his personal life is almost nonexistent - but that’s a small price to pay in order to maintain strict control, and minimize his vulnerabilities.

But then Luke’s firm, with the help of his cheeky administrative assistant Charlotte, strong-arms him into becoming the first-ever client of the new Dreamscape Adventures, Inc. The new company promises fantastical vacations to wealthy clients, as well as controlled therapeutic experiences to individuals suffering from various forms of mental illness, such as autism and PTSD. They’re a potentially huge client for Luke’s firm, but they need liability insurance before they can get off the ground. Luke expects he'll have a quick little canyoneering adventure like he did back in his college days, and then get right back to the grindstone.

But Luke’s adventure doesn’t quite go the way he planned. Eli, the entrepreneur in charge, assures Luke that the glitches are nothing to worry about, and they’ll have things under control again in no time. Instead, Luke soon finds himself in a wilderness of questionable reality, where he is responsible not only for his own safety, but also Charlotte’s, Eli’s, and that of a nonverbal autistic boy whose vulnerability strikes a bit too close to home. Forced to confront his past and his deepest fears, Luke must decide whether to rewrite history and become the man he's always wanted to be - or whether instead he is doomed to repeat it.

I LOVEd It!

I loved this story. It was way more than one guy gone on a dreamscape adventure to underwrite a new business… Way more than that. I don’t even want to say what happens because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Just know if you like happy endings read this book. I can only hope there is a dreamscape adventure number two about Luke Charlotte and his dad or maybe a new time travel business needs underwriting right around the time another their life changing event happens, LOL!

What can I say about the narrator he is the reason I chose this book. So of course I thought he did AN excellent I love his voice and his calm demeanor even when he is pretending to be upset he seems quite calm I love him Matthew Barry is a great narrator.

5 stars is not enough for this!!!!!

Vary rarely do I find a book that I feel needs more than 5 stars. This is one of them. Our protagonist/hero/antihero/main character is a man who decides whether or not an insurance company will underwrite a business and provide it with insurance. He is highly successful due to both his business acumen and his amazingly efficient and personable assistant. His latest job? A virtual vacation company that will also provide therapy for individuals who have suffered traumatic experiences and allow them to overcome and re-enter society....well as you can imagine things take a tragic turn of events putting him and his secretary who had begged to be allowed to join into a life or death situation along with a rich clients son. Can they get through it? Will they all survive? Will he underwrite the company for insurance if he makes it through? Ok all that being said. This is one damned amazing book well written and well narrated...if you can get through the last 30 minutes without shedding a few tears 😭 I’d be impressed...had me mopping my eyes up big time. Enjoy. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

This was a great new concept!

I really enjoyed Dreamscape, Inc. It has a novel concept on AI which i enjoyed. Great job kudos for C.A. Gray! Highly recommend it!

Matthew Berry did an awesome job of developing character vocals and keeping the story at a brisk pace that kept your attention throughout.

Interesting futuristic vacation idea!

This is an interesting idea on futuristic vacations and psych therapy. Luke is an insurance broker, whose company is looking to insure a new company that promises dream vacations and/or psych therapy. His boss asked him to be the first customer, in order to screen the company for safety. This story has twists and turns and appears to turn in to a nightmare for Luke. This book reminded me of the 1997 movie "The Game" and was worth a listen to anyone who likes sci-fi!

Predictable storyline, but great presentation.

The story is worth listening, nothing is as it seems, save for the fact of the sex of the author.
Enjoyable tale, worth the credit.

Technology....scary stuff sometimes!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Oh boy...what to say about this book without giving any of the plot away. All I can think to say right now is, it's awful close to something that could be real life and it's a bit frightening and fascinating. I really enjoyed the plot, the twists and emotional roller coaster that was this story.

The narration was great too. Clear, concise and easy to understand. I often travel for many hours at a time and not once did I feel like Matthew's voice was lulling me into dangerous zone-out territories.

A Real Life Virtual Adventure

Not sure what to expect when I got this book so I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of both the writing and the narration.

Disappointing.

The awesome C. A. Gray totally disappoints on this one even so that Hollywood took the idea for a futuristic TV show.

Matthew E Berry narration is beautifully done for each of the characters.

Neither great, nor terrible

This is an ok piece of light entertainment, Luke Darringer is an annoying man right from the start, so I was delighted when he was forced (entirely against his will) to join the Dreamscape Adventure.
It all goes downhill from there, for Luke that is, it's amusing in parts, boring in parts, and sad in other parts, it's middle ground, both in narration and in storytelling, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, if you have a big wishlist I would not recommend putting this at the top, if, however, you are stuck for ideas on what to listen to next then give this a go, but only if you're stuck for ideas.

A diamond in the rough

I was completely blown away by this extremely well written fantasy book, a story of self discovery, that has quite a few unexpected turns. some parts I was 'I know this isn't real' BUT! still had me holding my breath, my full attention as i was carried along feeling as though I was actually there.
This book deffinatly took me on a journey.
It's brilliant!
The narration is superb, really giving it life and bringing the story to into it's own, the character are great, the whole build up and delivery are incredible, the whole book start to finish is flawless.
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ easily

very well read

I've had to stop listening to this after getting about halfway through, mainly out of frustration with the main protagonist but also because a story about mental health is the last thing I need to hear when I'm dealing with my own. The story is meant to be a mind bender I think, but I just got more and more frustrated and depressed.
I was offered a code for the book in return for an honest review. I'm just sorry I got the opportunity when I'm in a bad headspace. I think that if I weren't dealing with these issues, I would probably enjoy the story.
As for the narrator, he did a great job, he needs to work on his female voices a bit, but sadly the female characters were written a little on the simpering side.

Unique approach

This is the story of a lawyer to takes an adventure in a new Dreamscape adventure to ensure it is acceptable to be insured by his firm. AS luck would have it things don't go as planned and he is stranded within the VR dreamscape and has to take charge to ensure his small group survive.

This is a very good book. It is entertaining and the narration is great.

A different perspective

The book is good and well narrated. It approaches the arrival of VR from a very different perspective and this allows it to take the story in quite a different direction. I recieved a review copy of this book.
