Just the book wanted.

Emotional eating. Binge eating. Call it what you want, but I call it my deepest, darkest secret that I never told anyone about. This book has me thinking about my own mindfulness, not only about food, but also in those moments when I have self-doubt and negative thinking. I can apply the strategies found in this book to many areas in my own life.

Incredibly powerful book.

Being stuck in the binge eating part of dieting makes you feel incredibly depressed and powerless but this was written in such a genuinely warm, understanding voice that it makes you feel like the author is right there comforting and supporting you and reassuring you that it is possible to recover.

Doesn't address binge eating

This book brings out nothing new. I suffer from binge eating and this book did not address any behaviours to help. She said binge eating is an illness, but doesn't provide any help other than a diet.

Not What I was looking for

It is a pretty good book for someone else who is more of a homemaker but it's not for me.

Educating me well.

Thanks Emily! It definitely made me rethink and evaluate how I approach food. It also helped that my cats are currently on their diet and I could see the negative effects firsthand. Unlike certain bad habits that you can give up all together, you still have to eat to survive. Therefore understanding your emotional associations to food is important. This listening piece is educating me well.

This gets down to the fundamentals.

It gets down to the fundamentals I think we all forget in today's society. We don't need to starve ourselves or deprive ourselves of things we want the most. We can be happy with our bodies, nurture them with food and not constantly struggle.

Need the help of this.

If your world stops when you eat, or you eat to escape from the world, if you place your appetite for food before your appetite for life, you got to listen to this and meditate on it. I almost lost sense of time because of this good work. I finally admitted the truth that I need help.

Somewhat terrific.

A somewhat terrific audio book here providing someone struggling with overeating or other food issues. It also has a list of other valuable resources that you can refer to if needed. I think this could be used more generally to increase positivity in your everyday life as well.
