Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Kristen Proby comes an all-new novel in her beloved With Me in Seattle series, Dance with Me.

Starla. Just Starla.

She doesn’t have a last name, and she doesn’t need one. Not with that many Grammys on her mantel. Everyone knows her kick-ass, no-holds-barred style of singing, dancing, and living.

No one knows that America’s sweetheart is still living with the wreckage of four years ago, when her world was torn apart. Losing her fiancé was devastating, but she’s channeled all of that into her music. Closing off her heart opened a hundred new doors.

Officer Levi Crawford, Seattle PD.

For almost 20 years, Levi has been consumed by the law. He eats, sleeps, and breathes work. Not just because he’s a workaholic, but because he loves it. Sure, he doesn’t have time for a woman and barely sees the rest of his family, but it’s a trade he’s always been happy to make.

Until Starla.

Two lonely hearts could learn to beat again, if they’re willing to dance together.

WOW! WOW! An addicting narrative and impressive narration!

Kristen yet again gives us another remarkable story from the Crawford brothers! Levi and Starla’s story of romance was so intriguing to me as he is a cop and she is a pop star. It was refreshing to see a new set of occupations come together that I hadn’t read before! I became fascinated by these 2 characters in “Love With Me” when we first saw his interaction with Starla at a family party and he didn’t know who she was. The development of their romance is truly an incredibly sweet story that will draw you in with the twisting and suspenseful plot line! I don’t want to give away more than that as it is such a well written narrative that is so much more enjoyable to discover as you read! I will say, you will be swooning over Levi the whole entire book! Could he be any more perfect, caring, protective and compassionate? In love with him!

Wow! Kirsten Leigh was the PERFECT narrator for Starla! Starla is a pop singer and I was blown away when Kirsten actually sang some of Starla’s songs in the book. Not only that, she sang them beautifully!!! Her voice combined with Lee Samuels again was a phenomenal combination!

Another pairing of friend and family from the Montgomery Clan of Seattle

This romance between Cop Levi Crawford and singer performer Starla includes plenty of appearances from the larger clan, a quick tie in to Cunningham Falls, Montana, a stalker story, and the usual concerns between 30 to 40 somethings. There is the predictable HEA after the search of a predictable villain but also a twist, and an extremely abrupt ending. Loved the girls night out scene and the kitten and puppies. More appearances with the kids would. Make it a little more realistic.

The narration was great and the story engaging but there were 3 points where I lost patience with the plot development and felt for a strong independent woman, the character of Starla was acting stupid and/or careless. The first is at the beginning when the heroine is sick and goes to the doctor. She is dizzy and passing out and yet only diagnosed with exhaustion instead of a battery of tests finding the other component of the real cause. Call me suspicious but given the nature of her job and mail wouldn’t you be concerned with what you were eating and environmental factors as a cause and maybe tested it all.
Then there is the scene where Starla complains about not being able to go to a museum exhibit without being mobbed and yet noting that the museum has approached her about a donation. While the solution brings another of the larger family into play and allows our hero to grant her the wish, it is ridiculous and not at all realistic that she couldn’t have picked up the phone and arranged a before or after hours tour herself.
Finally there is the whole security thing. Why would you not vet the security and hire the best if you can afford for your safety given that you have no problem spending money on things like purses that cost thousands, Jaguars that you pick out just because you need a car to drive- and can park at shopping center garages. That doesn’t mean that security couldn’t have been fooled in the end for the same result but... Maybe she really is as dumb as the villain accuses and it is more than a good thing she and Levi are together.

Wonderful listen.

This is one of the best series there is. Kristen Proby did not disappoint with this addition to the Seattle series. I love Starla and and Levi. It was great to read/listen, when Starla (the female in the story) left Levi (the male) wondering, normally it’s the other way around. But to watch the two grow their relationship and protect each other whenever needed was great, their support for each other when they had difficult times was refreshing. I listened to the audiobook in a few hours because I could not put it down. Kristen Proby has always made you want more in this series and this is no different. I highly recommend this book/audio and if you haven’t read/listened to the others in this series i would recommend all, you don’t have to read/listen to them but it will not be a disappointment.

Dance With Me

I loved getting Starla's story- one that I have been waiting for. Kirsten Leigh and Lee Samuels did a great job of bringing Levi and Starla to life (although it took a bit to get used to Kirsten Leigh's male narration). I definitely recommend Dance With Me!
