Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author Kristen Proby comes the first in an all-new trilogy in her beloved Big Sky Series!

Hannah Malone loves her new town. Despite living in Cunningham Falls for five years, she's still considered a "move in" by most of the locals, and that doesn't bother her in the least. She's the "new girl", and she hasn't regretted it for one day. This town is her sanctuary. Her home. The one place she finally fits in and feels safe after a lifetime of being different and running from the memories and a past so far away it can't haunt her anymore.

As the newly appointed police chief, Brad Hull has the responsibility to keep his citizens safe and to maintain order. His roots in this town are deep - five generations deep, to be exact. Cunningham Falls, Montana, is his town, and being a cop and protecting what's his is his passion. Everything's running like clockwork until a sassy redheaded doctor moves in and disrupts the order - and Brad's focus.

She's not just beautiful, funny, and strong. Hannah's everything he's been looking for in a woman. The chemistry is undeniable, and the heat in the bedroom is off the charts. Brad knew the minute he met Hannah that she was the one for him. He's tenacious in his pursuit of her. But when the past catches up with Hannah, will Brad be able to protect her and their hearts?

very disappointed!

I listened and hoping this story would improve. But it didn't. Kristen Proby can write so much better.
If you're one to enjoy listening to someone have anxiety attacks over and over, then this audio book is for you. Jillian is an O.B. doctor and knows there's different types of help for anxiety and doesn't follow through til almost the end. (OOPS spoiler alert). I was disappointed with her character. 🤐
The narrator's are new to me and did an excellent job with what they had to work with.

Couldn't finish

The narration was good. Tonal inflection, tempo, etc were spot on. The story had promise, but the heroine wrecked it. I know it was her character to be a worry wart, but it was too much of a bad thing. As someone that suffers from anxiety, it felt too forced. I couldn't finish because I couldn't believe the heroine. I couldn't believe her extreme range of dichotomy and think she was a real person. I'm disappointed because I love Kristen Proby, but this book just wasn't for me.

Charming and Sweet

I enjoyed the book overall, it was a great first book in a series. I liked some of the second-hand characters more but that’s ok. Hannah was sweet and her anxiety was hard to hear because I know what it's like. It was very real and it’s very real to the person who is going through it.

I loved how Brad just understood and was there for her in any way he needed it. Their love story wasn’t OMG mind-blowing it was sweet and hits the sweet spot of romance for me.

I enjoyed his narration more than hers but that could just be because I haven’t heard of her before and sometimes it takes a few books to really get a feel for a new narrator to me. Enjoyable though for sure.

Not a fan of these narrators

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. I did not enjoy these narrators, Most especially Patrick Garrett. He sounded like an older gentleman rather than a guy in his mid 30’s . I am going to return the audio book for my credit back and then buy the book to read. Hopefully I’ll be able to get his voice out of my head. I am a huge fan of Kristen Proby so I know I’ll love the book. But narrators can really make a huge difference in story telling-at least for me they can.

Would you recommend Charming Hannah to your friends? Why or why not?

I probably would but not the audio book. As mentioned HUGE Kristen Proby fan.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Morais Almeida and Patrick Garrett ?

Not really too sure off the top of my head.

Do you think Charming Hannah needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Idk yet. I wasn’t able to finish the book. I think I made it to chapter 2 before I threw in the towel.

Good but not my fav

For some reason I didn't fall in love with this book as I usually do with Kristen Proby's books. Even though I can personally relate to the h's anxiety problem, felt a bit tedious that a doctor would not have already sought professional help for this. Narrators new to me but enjoyed their performance enough that I would still give book a 4 overall.

Anxiety Ridden OB-GYN & police chief fall in Love

First of the series, the author (who I normally enjoy) does a good job introducing a variety of characters - some more interesting than others. Most of the dramatic tension revolves around Hannah’s anxiety attacks so storyline is pretty thin and mostly setting scene in small town Cunningham Falls in the Big Sky country of Montana. What story there is moves at a good pace as characters are introduced and the 2 main characters are developed. There are several erotic sexy scenes and a tragedy involving a family friend and the lake. The small town setting is featured. Hannah’s issues are acknowledged though without any real resolution other than the codependent though sympathetic relationship that is forming between two workaholics in high stress jobs. No cliff hanger thankfully but the ending is somewhat abrupt and unsatisfying. This is only book one of series.
The narration is ok- good for each gender though the each are not very proficient with the other voices. The book would be a great candidate for the Romance Package and was ok as a sale book, would have been even better as a 2 for 1, but is not worth a full credit.

Charming Romance!

Charming Hannah is a sweet and charming romance that is fairly light on angst. Hannah is an OB/GYN doctor who is a bit of a hypochondriac and also has some anxiety issues. She worries that she is just too “crazy” for anyone to have to deal with.

“You are not broken, sweetheart. You’re not a hot mess. You’re a human being, and sometimes life is just hard.”

Town sheriff Brad Hull is attracted to Hannah from the first time he had seen her, but has kept a distance until their paths really collide, then he can’t deny that she is the one for him.

“Hannah. You asked me before what helps, remember?”
“I do.”
“It’s you.” He cups my face and kisses me softly. “It’s just you.”

The audiobook narration was wonderful and I’m glad I decided to listen. The narrators really brought the characters to life for me! Charming Hannah is a feel good romance that had me swooning.

“Everything I am, and all that I have belongs to you.”

Charming

This was a absolutely charming book that I could not put down. Brad and Hannah are great together. Them trying to fit a relationship in with their crazy schedules. I loved the fact that Hannah had anxiety and dealt with it. The friendships that each of the characters had and relationship that brad had with his family was great. I cannot wait for the next book in this serious. Kristen Proby did not let me down with this book.

Hannah and Brad are a great couple. Brad has the patience of Job with Hannah's panic attacks.

Hannah is an OBGYN and Brad is Chief of Police. He is very down to earth and practical. Hannah is that way too when it comes to her job. When personal things get a little too well, personal, she panics and is positive she's dying. With Brad's love and help she is able to overcome most attacks. They are surrounded by loving, helpful, flawed friends. Characters are well constructed and funny. Narration is spot on.

Lacked drama

I waited for the angst or drama, it never came.

If this was a book I would have lost interest and put it down, however, I listened in audio so I was determined to see where it went, nowhere basically.

A small town romance about a police officer and a Doctor falling in love, doing life.

The narration was confusing at times when the male narrator read parts containing a conversation, I couldn't tell which character was which and who said What.

In summary an OK romance but for me it fell flat, I enjoy page Turners, this wasn't one.

A different slant on the characters

An enjoyable story though a few things didn't really resonate with me and the female narrator was not as good with male voices. Inspite of that I still enjoyed it overall.

Wow

Just adored this book. Hannah with her past problems and Brad just loved her anyway. This was a great romance read that just melted my heart.
Narration was awesome too.
