Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

Everyone dreams of marrying a prince - except for me. I am nothing more than a pawn in my adoptive mother's diabolical plot against the seven kingdoms. I was the chosen tool, her sharpened blade that would cut the deepest into the heart of the kingdom of Baist. But like all deadly weapons, my wedding is two-edged sword that could cost me my soul. For I am Rosalie, one of the adopted daughters of Lady Eville, and it is my duty to enter into a loveless and hate-filled marriage with the narcissistic Crown Prince of Baist.

Magic, adventure, mystery, and romance combine in this epic debut in which a young princess must reclaim her dead mother’s throne, learn to be a ruler - and defeat the Red Queen, a powerful and malevolent sorceress determined to destroy her. On her 19th birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. Plain and serious, a girl who loves books and learning, Kelsea bears little resemblance to her mother, the vain and frivolous Queen Elyssa.

ahhh! she's done it again!
such a great book in the Remnant universe! Mary has hooked me again and I can't wait for her next book. Although not critical, I suggest you read her first series in this Universe, The Kiss of Deception. it's so fun to hear a little about those characters I fell in love with. thanks Mary! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance/fantasy/adventure. And yes, romance is first because the main point to this story was Kazi and Jaze with action/adventure in between.

Love this book and narration
This book was everything I thought it would be. It had adventure and love. The two perspectives really made the book well rounded. 100/10 recommend! The story captivated me and left me wanting more! Hopefully Vow of Thieves lives up to the same level of greatness.

Great romance fantasy!
I’ve been a LONG time fan of Mary e Pearson and her books. The remnant chronicles are some of my favorite YA’s ever. All of her books are amazing.
I would like to put a small disclaimer that you don’t have to read the remnant chronicles before this but I do HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Reading the remnant chronicles beforehand will give you so much more insight to the world and characters mentioned in DoT.
I totally understand why this book is so hyped on booktok. I read the remnant chronicles back in 2015 and I’ve reread it every so often because of how much I love it. So the remnant chronicles is more character development and Dance of thieves is more romance. I did really like the romance in it a lot! I really like the angst and ongoing of them being enemies the entire time but also falling for each other. It was so sweet! I love kazi and jace. I really liked the new twist on the world building too. With the ballengers being part of the ancients who survived.
While I did really LOVE this book, I do like the remnant chronicles more but that might be due to nostalgia too.

Loved this!
I loved this so much! The Remnant Chronicles is one of my favorite series of all time and I have been so excited for this book. I love this world, and I loved seeing other parts of this world that weren't in TRC, but I also loved when the TRC characters showed up! I missed them. They didn't take over the story though, this book was definitely about Kazi and Jase. I loved how everything played out. It was a little slow to start, but its also long so that was okay. A lot happened in this one book and I would do anything to have the sequel right now. Kazi and Jase were awesome, I loved them both.
You can read this without reading TRC first, but it will spoil something for you about TRC that is really fun in that series. You should read TRC anyway if you haven't yet, because its amazing.
Mary E Pearson is one of my favorite authors, I will read as many books in this world as she puts out and I will love them all.
This audio was really great, I loved the performance.

Loved this book. Entertaining with some unexpected moments but also heartwarming moments I hoped would happen.
