Was a fun story but….

I like the story, but the narrator used pretty much the same voice for every one so it made it hard at first to tell who was speaking. Not sure I’ll get the next one but at least it was a clean story and no cursing so I don’t mind sharing it with m kids.

the story was pretty good, but the reading was phenomenal. I think this might be the best reading I've heard.

Brilliant Pirate Adventure!

Where do I begin with this book. It was a wonderfully crafted high seas tale, rich with complex characters and their questionable actions. There are monsters, lore, magic, and treasure abound. It is quite violent at times, as is expected in this type of story. The romance was intricately woven through the narrative, and the pacing was superb! And the twists at the end will leave you itching for book 2!

Great YA read!

There is mystery, adventure, twist & turns, and a little romance! The book is narrated beautifully. I had a hard time turning it off until I finished it. Off to the next adventure in the trilogy!

My favorite new narrator!

Ellen is so diverse and talented in the many different ways she able to bring different characters to life. Her latest Victoria McCombs book just gives her the new challenge to take her to the next level. Can't wait to listen to book two!

Intriguing story, great reader

Arn and Emme are unlike any two normal characters in a book. They each hold secrets and when they come to light, trouble descends on the salty waters. Intriguing and fast paced, there’s not a dull moment in Oathbound.

Amazing

so many adventures that tired together so well! some romance and twists and turns that were unpredictable and amazing! I've never been much of a reader but I couldn't stop once I started this book! it was phenomenal! the narrator was great! and the author is a 10/10 writer!

Not What I Expected

It took me 2 years to finish this book.

This book wasn’t exactly what I expected. It felt more fairy tale at the beginning, but then by the end it was more piratey like I imagined it would be. I unfortunately didn’t enjoy the narrator/actress that read for this book. I felt like the lines weren’t delivered as they would have been read - but everyone perceives things differently.

I haven’t finished the trilogy yet, but so far I would recommend it to those who like a fairy-tale-esque love story. I am thankful that Arn was a love interested I could be interested in! He makes wrong choices, but he also takes care of those he loves. I also loved the little twist bear the end.

I felt a little lost in the story but it took me a longer time than most to read it. Looking forward to the next two books to see how it ends!
