Publisher's Summary

Falling in love was never part of his mission....

With visions of professional glory, underwater archaeologist Cressida Porter embarks on a research trip deep into the heart of Eastern Turkey. Her dreams turn into nightmares when she becomes the unwitting courier for a terrorist network. Stranded and unable to speak the language, she turns to a handsome and enigmatic security specialist for help, even while fearing he may be behind a violent assault that leaves her vulnerable.

CIA case officer Ian Boyd's mission is clear: follow the courier, identify the terrorist leader, and intercept the microchip before it falls into enemy hands. For Ian, cozying up to the alluring archaeologist to find out where her loyalties lie isn't exactly hardship duty. But spending time with her proves dangerous when she awakens a longing for a life he can never have.

Attraction wars with distrust as Cressida and Ian are forced on the run. When violence erupts in the already unstable region, Cressida discovers everything she knows about Ian is false. With all secrets revealed, Cressida must decide if she can trust the spy with her life while Ian faces his own impossible choice: Cressida or his mission.

007 has nothing on this hero

Stuck in a situation where everyone is out to get you, the only person you rely on is your companion.

Love this "Evidence" Services

All the characters in this series are fun to get to know. I especially like seeing lead characters in one book reappear in supporting roles in other books continuing to tell the story of their "happily ever after". If you like romantic suspense you will enjoy this series.

Another thrill ride!

No spoilers here.
I really loved the plot and development of the characters. The story takes you on a race to get out of Turkey and back to the U.S..
On the run, not knowing if you can actually believe or trust someone your with, the lies, the secrets, the betrayal, the fear, a hostile environment and the intense sparks of attraction between the characters.....
Kept me on the edge to find out what happens next. ... A thrilling race to the end.
Will not say more about the story itself because I don't want to spoil it.

The narrative was done beautifully.

Thanks for another fabulous story. Officially a fan of Rachel Grant.

Great Series

I'm amazed that every novel in Rachel Grant's Evidence Series has been wonderful. I've thoroughly enjoyed each one. The plots are well thought out and I have trouble putting them down. The characters are so real you feel like you know them!

Who can you trust?

Cressida begins this story as a trusting and naive archeology student focused on her secret plan for a great thesis. She finishes the story with her eyes wide open and finally able to trust her instincts where relationships are concerned. She demonstrates strength of character and cunning in the face of danger.
Ian has spent his working life second guessing every motive that his contacts exhibit. Running across someone who is a true innocent is a new experience. The job comes first for him, until Cressida gets under his skin, then she becomes the job.
Travels through rural Turkey and the complicated political scene between the ethnic cultures were an interesting look into a volatile area of the world. Danger at every turn and greedy self interest are strong themes.
Another great story in this series.
