Philosophy and Practice

What I loved most about this is that there is great insight and thought -- but also real "how to's"...the action steps we need to take to put the concepts into actual practice. Nido is an inspiration!

Boring

This was probably the most boring audiobook I've read all year. The book frequently jumps topics and subjects. It covers SOOO many different topics but has no stucture or chapters. The author's voice was a little annoying and takes some getting used to. There are a few good points to pick up in this book about sales and business. The suggestions made were very basic. Overall, this book was like being in a college class were the teacher frequently goes off on long, drawn out tangents. Didn't sound like a book, more like a guy just talking about random stuff.

Position Yourself for Success:12 Proven Strategies

I did not find this Nido Qubein product helpful. I have heard many Personal Development recordings from Nightingale-Conant and from other sources. Unfortunately, there are a number of products out there like this one, which sounds to me as if the author is reading a set of A to Z Success Principles from a dictionary. All valid points, but not really helpful to a serious student of success.

I could say to you, for example, to lead a healthy lifestyle - don't smoke, drink or eat fatty foods, get adequate sleep, weekly exercise, regular check-ups and so on. These are proven, well-known facts, but it is unlikely that my giving you this information would make you change (assuming you wanted to change) if you are a late night party animal, with a craving for cigarettes and fast food takeaways.

I have seen video recordings of Nido Qubein on You Tube and he is a very eloquent speaker, but for audio recordings, I prefer mentors like Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn and TD Jakes who can really get their message across to me and make it stick.
