Publisher's Summary

After suffering a horrific injury that threatens to end his career, Baden Oulett is about to learn that sometimes a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered.

I worked my whole life to achieve one goal - play professional hockey. As part of the defending Cup champion Arizona Vengeance, I was living my dream - until one split-second decision destroyed it all. Instead of lacing up my skates and hitting the ice, I’ve spent my days in rehab and physical therapy just so I could walk again. When a coaching opportunity with the Pittsburgh Titans is presented to me, I find myself with a career I had never considered but which allows me to continue being part of the sport that I love.

While my injuries are physical, the same can’t be said for the woman I rescued. Suffering from wounds that can’t be seen, Sophie Winters has withdrawn from the world in fear and guilt. I didn’t know Sophie before that fateful night and have only met her once since, but I refuse to let her face her demons alone. Determined to be a friend, I support Sophie in the only way I know how: by simply being there.

Through our shared trauma, Sophie and I begin to find peace within one another. As we grow closer, what started as friendship becomes more intimate - until our broken pieces become one. But can a love born of anguish endure, or will the pain of our past prove too much to overcome?

Beautiful Story!

This is the first book in the Pittsburgh Titans series, a spin-off of the Arizona Vengeance series. This series is interconnected with the Jameson Force Security series. The story starts where the last book in the Arizona Vengeance series ended. This first installment is great! I loved Baden and Sophie's emotional story! Baden is such a great guy, caring, and protective. Sophie is beautiful, strong, and determined. They are perfect together. I liked the amazing characters, and the slow burn romance. The storyline is emotional, and captivating. Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it! Now, I am looking forward to listening to Stone, the next book in the series.

Protector

This was a cute story. I enjoyed both Baden and Sophie’s characters.
They have both been through a lot. Some guys would have blamed Sophie for what happened, which I’ve read in different books, but Baden didn’t. He took on a protector role.
Sophie had a big battle to overcome and Baden plays a big part in her recovery.
These two are a cute couple and I really liked the book.
I also appreciated how another problem wasn’t thrown into the mix for the couple to solve (the typical problem that gets thrown in towards the end of stories) since the couple already had something to overcome.

Spectacular Start to New Series

Sawyer Bennett has once again weaved a story to pull on the heartstrings and keep you enthralled in the story from beginning to the happiest of happily ever afters.

This was the perfect start to the new Pittsburgh Titans series. Baden has been on my mind for a while ever since he was introduced in the Vengeance series. This man has overcome so much and is a walking miracle. He gives the new meaning to hope. Sophie has been through just as much but is having a harder time to overcome her demons. These two will lean on each other to give the other strength to face the demons of their past.

This story will give you all the feels. You'll follow along as two people who come together from their joined tragic event to find their strength and happily ever after. It's emotional and heartbreaking with a mix of triumph and hope. It's sweet and sexy and make your heart full romance.

Aiden Snow brought Baden to life with his deep timbre and smooth voice. He had the right tone at the right time. Lessa Lamb is a new female narrator to me and she was fabulous. She voiced Sophie with just the right amount of emotion she needed. She brought her to life amazingly.

A phenomenal start to thus new series and I look forward to more troubled hockey stars.

I knew I would love this series, but wow!

It's no secret that Sawyer Bennett is my favorite author, but how can an author continue to shred your heart into pieces and take you on a new adventure every time they release a book? Baden and Sofie were pure magic. I loved how they developed this friendship that built a foundation of trust and admiration. Each suffered their own tragedy in the same incident and each had a journey to recovery that was gut-wrenching. The patience that Baden had while Sofie navigated her journey was heartfelt. He refused to let her crawl into her own bubble of trust and showed her that she could live again. He could see without words that she needed him, and the fact that he saved her twice had me in tears. He literally found balance in transitioning this big career change while being everything she needed. She also saved him in a way that allowed him to figure out things that made his move easier.

The tender moment when they made love had me bawling. Every moment of this journey kidnapped every emotion within me and wouldn't let me go. I have my own story of survival and a man, who has been my husband for almost 30 years, that saved me from myself. This masterpiece hit me in a way that branded my heart. The narrators brought such life to these characters that my tears flowed during this one scene that took my breath away. I'm looking forward to another great series going forward. This was simply brilliant.

Healing from the past

Absolutely brilliant start to the series! Baden and Sophie are a slap shot straight to your heart. A story of healing after a tragic meeting brings a brighter future and leaving the pain of the past firmly behind them. The Pittsburgh Titans series shows the perseverance and strength are tackled one day at a time.

loved the story and narration!!

I loved this book, like loved it. It's definitely a bit on the slow burn side and heavy in the emotional department. Sawyer Bennett wasn't kidding when she said she wanted this new series to be more on the emotional side... it is. I found myself hugging onto these characters for all they are worth. Baden is an insanely strong man and I loved his strength and his ability to put everything out on the line for a new life. He went all in. I so appreciated the fact that we got to see him being vulnerable and have a weak moment as well. It made the story seem more real. Sophie is strong as well. She has so much inner strength and the longer the book goes on the more you see her come into her own.

I can't imagine what struggling with PTSD must be like but from everything I've read or heard on the news, Bennett gives us a real look at what it's like to deal with PTSD. Bennett definitely met her own requirements when she wanted to make a more emotional series. I loved that we got a deeper look into the characters. Now the narration of this story was just amazing. Lessa Lamb and Aiden Snow did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life. Lamb really showcased the inner turmoil Sophie dealt with. I loved that I could hear her emotions in her voice. Snow also showcased Baden's emotions flawlessly.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

Aiden Snow's soothing and alluring voice keeps you enthralled. Narration is perfection, I felt every emotion, fear and at times excitement. Great Story!
I do not know if it was just me but the first page had me tearing up. I feel like I have been waiting for Baden's story for a long time, and it was worth the wait.
This story will take you on a journey that will break you apart and slowly put you back together again in a way that you do not expect. This is so different than anything I have read from Sawyer Bennett. This is an emotional, powerful, strong, meaningful and heartfelt story. I can not wait to see what comes next for the Pittsburgh Titans.

Healing

This book is the beginning of a new series that starts with tragedy for both the team and for Baden. We met Baden in the Arizona Vengeance series but this gives us the man and how he turned a tragic event in his life into inspiration and got his career back even though in a different form. There is sadness in this book but also rebuilding of both a team and of Baden and Sophie. They were thrown together in a tragic situation but from that, love grew and together they learn to heal. The team is learning to heal as well and we are in for a great ride with these new characters.

I'm excited for this new series and happy the author still weaved some of the Vengeance characters in. Can't wait for more.

Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb did a great job. Aiden was perfect for Baden and brought out his pain and hero side. Lessa kept Sophie light and showed her vulnerable side as she tried to take her life back and gain what she lost in her attack. They were both great.

Beautiful and emotional

I really enjoyed reading Baden and honestly if it was possible to take this story to another level, Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb did exactly that with their wonderful narration.

Where to start and what to say that will do Baden justice.
Ms Bennett has taken hockey romance to another level with her new Pittsburgh Titans Series and if Baden is anything to go by she will certainly have another hit series on her hands and with that being said I have to say this book will certainly be on my best reads of 2022.
This is not a just story this is a journey and it’s one emotional roller coaster that you will be joining as you get to know Baden and Sophie so I urge you to take notice of the “Dear Reader” advice because it will give you an insight on the ride you are about to join. Baden didn’t realise how his life was going change the night he came to Sophie Winter’s rescue but he would do it all over again if he had too, only now he finds himself unable to play the game he loves so when he is offered a coaching job with Pittsburgh Titans he sees it as a chance to still be involved with game he loves and it will also mean he will be close to Sophie. Sophie is struggling with guilt and PTSD, she is terrified of life since the attack but the bond she shares with Baden will hopefully help her to find the strength to look to the future. So will this couple become stronger together and will their love be strong enough to navigate the bumpy road they find themselves on…..
This book touched me on so many levels and I highly recommend this amazing love story to all romance lovers but be warned, you will fall in love with Baden and Sophie, you will cry as you become involved with their journey and you won’t forget this very special read. Baden and Sophie have stayed with me long after reading the final words of this book and I’m so excited to get to know the rest of the Pittsburg Titans Team.

I absolutely loved this story of Baden and Sophie. It is so true and heartwarming to see them both become whole again and fall in love at the same time. This is a great beginning of another great series by Sawyer Bennett. I could jot put this down. Ohh I love but am sadden of the twist of Baden's and Sophie romance. This series does and will have the emotional punch that I wasn't expecting. The ending did end abruptly as when my audiobook was over I had to check my phone to make sure it nothing happened! Overall good.

Loved narrations by Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb.

What an amazing start to this series

I’ve been impatiently waiting for Baden’s story for a while. We learn about his Good Samaritan ‘downfall’ in the Arizona Vengeance series, whilst following his recuperation along the way. Now we get his story as he moves to Pittsburg to assist in the rebuilding of the Titans following the team’s fateful plane crash. For the first time we learn about the attack that crippled Baden, through the eyes of Sophie, as she comes to terms with her feelings and her many issues following her attack. What can I say? A truly emotional, wonderful, heartfelt story with two characters who are brought together following a horrendous attack. An attack that seemed to make Baden mentally stronger, but most definitely left Sophie with plentiful mental scars. I loved both Sophie and Baden, and having listened to the audio version with Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb performing Baden and Sophie, I can without a doubt recommend the audio version of this story. The relationship between Baden and Sophie is brought to life as they support each other emotionally and physically. We see their friendship blossom naturally in what I see as a wonderful start to what I’m hoping is going to be another fantastic hockey series with this troubled group of misfits.

Hockey by Sawyer... revived!

What a book to end my 2021 on! I have to admit, the last couple of books in the Vengeance series from Swayer Bennett, I really didn't care that much anymore. They were good, but I got bored. And then we FINALLY get Baden. The injured hero who we got to see all throuhgout dealing with his career-ending (possibly) injury and going through the mental, emotional and physical journey.

And then we are promised a new series, based on a whole team being lost to a plane crash. OH BOY. The emotions that will play throughout, and impact all these characters. I am here for it. (that sounds morbid.. but yeah). I am intrigued. And then Baden. Starting over, and meeting his past in Sophie, the lady he saved. I really liked how these two were understanding yet pushing each other. I really felt them growing closer and suddenly exploding. Really nice, and hey, I'm hyped again for more, so that really says it all, doesn't it?

Fantastic start to this new series!

Baden is a character I was attached to and am so glad he has his story! In Sawyer Bennett's new series, Pittsburgh Titans, we follow Baden to a new chapter in his life. With the horrible plane crash taking the Titan team, Baden is hired on as the new goalie coach. Not sure this is his new mission in life, he moves there and seeks out Sophie, the woman he saved on the fateful night of his injuries. Now he is helping build a new team, create new relationships and come to terms with his new life. But what about Sophie? While Baden's pain is visible, Sophie holds hers on the inside. Dealing with public places and darkness, she has become somewhat of a recluse. With the help and love of Baden, we get to see these two blossom. Bennett has a winning, emotionally charged listen with this new series. I know I am going to enjoy getting to know this team.

Aiden Snow plays the broken spirited Baden. His voice is so deeply emotional, he becomes Baden and deals with his pain as he comes into his new life. Lessa Lamb plays Sophie with an innocence and fear that is believable. I love hearing her change as the story progresses. These two seasoned narrators are perfectly cast and make for an amazing listen.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Heartfelt!

This book is absolutely amazing, it grabbed not only my attention, but it pulled on my heartstrings like no other. This is a beautifully written story and you can feel the emotions pour off the pages and into your heart. Sawyer Bennett masters sports romance and she is off to a wonderful start with her new series. Baden, a member on the Arizona Vengeance who has been on the sidelines while recovering from the horrific injuries he sustained when he intercepted a crime in progress to save the victim. He almost lost his life and was told he would never walk again, but we watched Baden determined to prove them all wrong, that he would not only walk again but to work his way back on the ice and playing with his team again too. The hockey community suffered a tremendous loss when almost every member of the Pittsburgh Titans perished in a plane crash, it hit close to home for Baden and close to his heart because his best friend was on that plan. A surviving owner of the team wants to put a new team together, and she offers Baden a goalie coaching position. Torn on what to do, leave his team and the chance to get back in the game or try out a new career, he chooses the latter and moves to Pittsburgh. Sophie Winters was never the same after being attacked while in Arizona, she suffers from PTSD and survivor’s guilt knowing the person who saved her almost died and lost the use of his legs. So not only was she shocked that he showed up at her front door, but he did so standing. She had visited him when he was in the hospital, but he was in no state of mind for visitors. Baden and Sophie hit it off right away, he saw her, really saw her, and she saw him. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully plotted story, a slow burn romance that contains a whole lot of heart, hearing what they went thru was heartbreaking, but watching them persevere and heal was heartwarming. This is an amazing story to a new series, I am looking forward to what comes next for the Titans and its players. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another wonderful sport romance novel and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Lessa Lamb nailed it as Sophie grasped her every emotion and had you feeling them, Aiden Snow did the same for Baden. Both were great covering the roles of the secondary characters too. These two mega talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers, their superb performance enhances this already exceptional story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
