Publisher's summary

Growing up, I knew my older brother’s best friend thought of me as “Logan’s kid sister”. For me, though, our next-door neighbor Colin felt like anything but a sibling. Whenever I spied on him through my bedroom window, as he banged away, shirtless, on his drum kit, I felt sensations inside me I’d never felt for my actual brother. But when we moved away and Colin’s band took off like a rocket, I knew my tweener fantasies would never become a reality.

Fast-forward nine years to my brother’s wedding, when I saw Colin again and we shared a secret, drunken kiss that rocked my world. The next morning, Colin blamed the alcohol. Said we should pretend the kiss, and my unfortunate text afterward, never happened.

Now that I’m heading to LA to work for Colin and crash at his place, though, all bets are off. I’m determined to make Colin swoon for me, the same way I’ve always done for him. Because no matter what he insisted, Colin’s body during our kiss, and the shocking thing he whispered into my ear right afterward, made it clear he doesn’t really think of me as his little sister, any more than I do.

Holy... Swoon!!

Excuse me while I mop my heart, that has melted into a big pile of goo, up off the floor. Holy wow! Talk about an aptly named book. Get ready to melt and swoon over Colin, Amy, and their class brother's best friend and little sister love story.

This was my first experience with Lauren Rowe's work. I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Her hero Colin was absolutely, for lack of better word, swoon worthy. Her heroine Amy was a quirky and massive spitfire. There was drama, moments of heartbreak, times you wanted to shake and cheer on both of them, as well as lots of moments of complete hilarity. I can't tell you how many times I busted out laughing. I was pleasantly surprised with the music elements to the audiobook. I was NOT expecting that. It's not every day that there is a break in the narration for the songs that are written into the story.

Joe Arden and Desiree Ketchum narrate the audiobook of "Swoon". With both of them bringing these characters to life, I was captivated from the very beginning and couldn't press the pause button. This was one of those narrations where you can't help but stay up late listening. Desiree is still a very new to me narrator and every time I listen to her, I fall more in love with her. She was pure perfection as Amy. Joe is everything you want in a hero. He just has a way of grabbing a hold of your heart no matter the character. Colin has a confident yet clueless personality that Joe brings to life brilliantly. I couldn't have asked for better narrators for this book.

Swoony perfection!

Hold on while I wipe the happy tears from my eyes to write this review. Lauren Rowe has done it again and taken me on a ride that I don’t want to ever end. Colin is the sexy, single drummer of the uber-successful band 22 Goats and Amy is the younger sister of his best friend growing up. There is definitely some angst surrounding that forbidden/this better go all the way or not at all trope, but Lauren brings such genuine emotion, deep thought, and realistic complications to the whole relationship that it goes way beyond your typical will they or won’t they see-saw. And in typical Lauren Rowe fashion, we are treated to a whole host of characters from past books, from the entire Morgan family and their spouses to most of the River Records bands and their significant others. It’s like going to a reunion every time and catching up with friends and family you haven’t seen in a while. There is plenty of steam, just enough conflict, lots of laugh-out-loud moments, and all the heartwarming, swoony romance you expect from Lauren and her beautiful stories. Joe Arden and Desireé Ketchum were absolutely golden and brought the perfect combination of heat, heart, and passion to their performance that this story deserved and demanded. If you haven’t heard the original music that Lauren writes and produces for her books then you MUST run right now to her website and listen to ALL of it! Adding this original music is next level and takes this audiobook to a 10 star listen for me. Bravo Lauren and keep ‘em coming!

Swoontastic

Swoon, swoony, the swooniest. What a swoonfest! I think we can all agree, speaking to the ones who have already read/listened to this book, that all our hearts are in puddles, and we are clutching said heart going: “Aww…saw-oon!!!”

Colin & April will charm you off your feed with their perfect friends to lovers fairytale that hits you right in the feels. You cannot but fall in love with them as their chemistry and emotional connection is insane. Following them dealing with old and new feelings is filled with enticing tension, many laughs, heartfelt emotions, spicy steamy seggsy times (HOT, HOTTER, THE HOTTEST… Well, WOW!!!! I felt I was getting further seggs education along with April) and last but not least swoontastic love songs. Thank you, Lauren Rowe, for giving us this sweet, swoonilicious story! And, I adore all these songs, they are just so darn catchy. They always make me tear up as they are just so beautiful and make my heart jump with joy and give it this warm fuzzy feeling. The first time I heard the song “Swoon” the floodgates opened.

Desireé Ketchum & Joe Arden rocked the swoon out of these dual performances. Taking us on this aural journey was truly perfection with a cherry on top. You could feel the emotions, confidence, and vulnerability in their voices and bring all these characters to life. I have a lot of love for each of them individually as they both are great voice actors and together, they brought us this swoon-worthy performance.

P.S. I know I used the word swoon quite a lot in this review and I might have overdone it but just wanted to see how many ways I could express all that SWOON!

The performance was incredible!

Not only did I love Colin and Amy's story but the narration was phenomenal! I loved how the actual songs played during the book not just at the end. I highly recommend this!

Swoon will have you smitten💕

Get ready y’all because JOE will make you swoon💕 Seriously, Joe as Colin could pull my strings anytime🔥

Colin & Amy are written in the stars & in their moms’ dreams 😉 I love everything about their journey from the sweet stories of their childhood to the group advice from the Morgan Mafia…we get bonus advice from Peenie (that’s enough to make you swoon🥵) and Mama Lou😊

You guys!! We get another sexy sweet song! Colin may have been a bit of a dumb@$$ and is all in on his grand gesture❤️

Extra bonus we there are more ‘superband’ performances at Reed’s🥰 no spoilers but hatchets may have been buried🙃

Fave quotes:
“I can’t imagine Colin’s been spending this much time with you, and looking so happy doing it, solely to help you get a job and keep Luke from asking you to dance. I know Colin’s an actor these days, but Robert De Niro couldn’t fake the kind of chemistry I’m seeing between you two.”—I love how both Colin & Amy are both smitten with each other.

“It’s time, Amy O’Brien—time for you to experience The Sure Thing.”—-YASSS Girl! Get you some😜

“I’m doing God’s work,” Keane says reverently. “One lingering d0ng-shot at a time.”—-I absolutely love Peenie 🤣🥰

❤️ S ❤️ W ❤️ O ❤️ O ❤️ N ❤️

When there’s a ‘brothers best friend’ romance you pretty much know what’s ahead.. but, with this talented author creating those chapters, and with Joe and Desiree bringing the characters and those chapters to life, you know the ride ahead is going to be awesome. And awesome it definitely was.. in the light, fun, early, easy chapters with its agreed-on boundaries we all know they’re going to deliciously break. In the chemistry-fuelled sexy chapters where Amy’s love and Colin’s lust are clearly driving the show. In the emotional, conflicted ‘from the heart’ chapters where friction is high and snaps. And in the sweet, romantic and swoony chapters where love finally breaks the floodgates to let happy ever afters in. Well it was all just wonderful.

Then there’s the BIG cast of preloved characters who brought warmth, fellowship and a sense of family that hugged this delightful story. And the dual POV narration by these two A star actors was perfect and they bring the fun, the feel, the friction and the fireworks to life.. and the cherry on top of this yummy cake are the songs from this and the previous books from Lauren.. 👏well done you and your team of musicians.

Worth a credit? Give me a Y.. give me an E.. give me an S… YES I loved it.

Ultimatum BS

I was liking the book until Amy gave Collin the ultimatum to tell her brother about them even when he explained why he didn’t want the families to know so soon because there would be too much pressure and she still stomped out like a 2 year old having a tantrum, that was BS.
