Publisher's summary

"Melissa Foster is synonymous with sexy, swoony, heartfelt romance!" (New York Times best seller Lauren Blakely)

Welcome to Oak Falls, Virginia, home to horse farms, midnight rodeos, bookstores, coffee shops, and quaint restaurants where you’re greeted like family and treated like treasured guests. Buckle up for a wild ride. Like any Southern girls worth their salt, the sweet-talking, sharp-tongued Montgomery sisters can take men to their knees with one seductive glance or a single sugarcoated sentence.

In Embracing Her Heart....
Leaving New York City and returning to her hometown to teach a screenplay writing class seems like just the break Grace Montgomery needs. Until her sisters wake her at 4:30 in the morning to watch the hottest guys in town train wild horses and she realizes that escaping her sisters’ drama-filled lives was a lot easier from hundreds of miles away. To make matters worse, she spots the one man she never wanted to see again - ruggedly handsome Reed Cross.

Reed was one of Michigan’s leading historical preservation experts, but on the heels of catching his girlfriend in bed with his business partner, his uncle suffers a heart attack. Reed cuts all ties and returns home to Oak Falls to run his uncle’s business. A chance encounter with Grace, his first love, brings back memories he’s spent years trying to escape.

Grace is bound and determined not to fall under Reed’s spell again - and Reed wants more than another taste of the woman he’s never forgotten. When a midnight party brings them together, passion ignites and old wounds are opened. Grace sets down the ground rules for the next three weeks. No touching, no kissing, and if she has it her way, no breathing, because every breath he takes steals her ability to think. But Reed has other ideas....

Smoking HOT and so much fun!

GAHHHHH!!! I swear my kindle bout burst into flames! Reed and Grace light up the pages and it is MAGIC! I absolutely loved EMBRACING HER HEART, a sexy yet romantic second chance romance. The narrators were spot on, I was completely sucked into the story and what a story it is! Not heavy on the angst, but I laughed and I teared up and I fell in love. It was exactly what I needed! Highly recommended!

You’ll want your own Greedy Boy!

Embracing Her Heart (The Bradens and Montgomerys (Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls)
Book 1 by Melissa Foster

Ok this is now one of my new favorite books by Melissa Foster. I love second chance romances and this one does not disappoint!

I read the ebook and listened to the audiobook as well. Do yourself a favor and get this audiobook. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York were incredible in the telling of Grace and Reed's story.

Grace Montgomery and Reed Cross were high school sweethearts who had to keep their relationship secret because of a rivalry between their high schools. Having grown up in a small city where such rivalries existed, it was easy to identify with.

Grace was always convinced country life was not for her and upon graduation she pursues her dream in NYC to become a playwright and producer. But at what cost?

Reed has has own dreams that don't include leaving Oak Falls, but is devastated when Grace departs and heads off to Michigan to escape his heartache and becomes a leading historical preservation expert opening a business with a college friend, Thad. After a betrayal Reed sells his share of the business and returns to Oak Falls to help out his Uncle Roy who suffered a heart attack and stays to run his uncle's business.

Fate brings these two together when Grace returns for a three week visit to teach a screenplay writing class and of course Gracie and Reed can't escape seeing each other.

Reed, aka Greedy Boy is as sweet and romantic as he is sexy and alpha. A perfect compliment to Grace's smart, sweet and sassy nature. His thoughtfulness and romantic gestures make him instantly endearing. Their chemistry is stronger than ever and what ensues is more than a trip down memory lane, as these two lovers make new memories while treasuring the old ones.

You can take the girl out of the country, but can you take the country out of the girl? And does she really want to? With Grace's three weeks coming to an end and her life back in NYC, can these two lovers make a long distance relationship work?

These are well-developed characters with great secondary characters who add to the story and move it forward. From Grace's huge family to Reed's Aunt and Uncle who raised him, to his missing father and their many friends, to the house Reed buys and movie theater which holds such fond memories for them, this book is a wonderful read and listen.

Romantic, Sweet and Sexy

What a wonderful audiobook! I really enjoyed this book and I feel that the narrators really brought Reed and Grace to life! I loved the history between Reed and Grace and the nostalgia between these two was so sweet. You're immediately sent back to high school to relive the romance between these two characters. Melissa Foster knows how to write a steamy scene and the narrators were doing a wonderful job of bringing the scenes to life.

The story between Reed and his father added dimension to the plot and I like the twist that was thrown in that ultimately increased the bond between Reed and his family. I would love to be a part of the Montgomery sisters - what fun they must have together. If you're looking for a sweet, romantic and sexy audiobook - this is it!!!

Finding love and the path that’s right for you.

I loved Grace and Reed’s first love, second chance, coming home, healing romance. The story is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. Grace and Reed are portrayed as real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as messy humans. Grace is an independent play producer in NYC. She is in her small home town visiting her parents and siblings for three weeks. Reed is a contractor and historic preservationist who recently moved back home after his uncle had a heath scare. Grace and Reed dated secretly in HS but broke up because she was determined to pursue her dream in the city and he was equally determined to live in his small town. They have not seen each other in a decade. Despite the passage of time, the feelings and their connection is still there and stronger than ever but so are all the reasons they broke up. Their lives are geographically and figuratively miles apart. As they continue toward their HEA, there are a lot of truths to learn and accept, a lot of hurdles to overcome, a lot of self reflection, and a lot of baggage to unpack. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as shown in sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, and all the heart squeezing love. All of Melissa Foster’s books have a central theme of family who accept you as you are - those we are born into and those we create. This book is no different. I love Melissa’s characters and families. And I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I really love the added dimension listening brings to a story.

Second chance at love!

Grace Montgomery and Reed Cross were secret high school sweethearts and each's one true love. After graduation, Grace heads to New York and becomes an off-Broadway producer and playwriter. Reed moves to Michigan and starts a business preserving old buildings. Ten years later, Grace is home in Oak Falls visiting her family and to help in her sister's bookstore, when she's blindsided to see her one true love is back in town. While Reed is repairing her parent's porch, Grace comes face to face with the one person she has never forgotten. Once they clear the air about past hurts, the love they've had for one another is even stronger. They decide to make the most out of the three weeks they have before she returns to New York. They visit their special places from when they were dating in high school and he even surprises her with a prom they never got to go to together. He is not letting her go this time and is determined to make it work long distance when she leaves.

Grace's true happiness is with Reed in Oak Falls, a town she couldn't leave fast enough after high school and realizes deep down, she's still a country girl at heart. A wonderful story of first loves and second chances. Sebastian York and Andi Arndt are amazing narrating Grace and Reed's story.
