Publisher's Summary

Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice - until a one-night stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates.

Bishop Scott, cocaptain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I cannot f---ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.

But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.

Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again - let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad - my boss - walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancé.

Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real....

3.5 STARS.. NEW TEAM, NEW CHARACTERS & GOOD START

This is a sweet, very sexy, light hockey romance where a one night stand between strangers backfires into a fake relationship and a fake engagement.. and, along the way, they fall for each other. Yes, this type of predictable plot’s been done many times before by other authors, but not with the hot Sawyer Bennett touch. It was an entertaining, low-drama journey between likeable characters who really weren’t looking for ‘the one’.. which made this story a feel-good, angstless slow-build of chemistry, animal attraction and respect for one another leading to love.

Worth a credit? A nice easy-going dual POV storyline and the narration was good.. so yeah creditworthy.

Score One for Bishop!

Mood Listening is totally a thing!
I tried this book when it first came out and I just wasn’t feeling it.
But I couldn’t get these characters out of my head so I thought I would give it another try and I am very glad I did because Bishop Scott captured my heart.

He and Brooke found themselves in a situation and its funny really when her father walks in on them and this elaborate scheme then becomes the storyline.

I loved how they never took each other too serious; they set rules and then broke em all. They made this book fun to listen to and fall in love with.

Even the wicked witch didn’t put a damper on how much I enjoyed these characters also there was little to no dramlama which if you know me is a deal breaker, I don’t like drama for the sake of it.
I can’t wait for other members of the team to get there HEA’s I will be keeping my eyes out for more.

LOVED the narration Lance Greenfield is one of my top 5 favorite male narrators of all time. Kirsten Leigh’s voice is smooth as silk and I love her tone.

Not for me

I was really hoping for so much more hockey and story and just, well, more than sex. By chapter 14 I was quite aware Bishop was hot, sexy and had a nice a**. And so was Brooke. So these 2 hot people hook up and fake an engagement and relationship and there you have it.

great story, great narration!!!

I purchased this book because I follow Lance Greenfield. He narrates a majority of this book. Also I like Sawyer's writing. I've not read her Cold Fury series, so the hockey bit was new to me. It's a great story about two people who hook up once and it turns into real feelings. Throw in a fake engagement and a crazy friend and you've got this gem. I'm looking forward to more in this series. I'll read them all. No matter who narrates.

Loved it

Loved the narration on this one. Really brought the book to life.

This is the first book in a new series from Sawyer Bennett and she is off to a flying start and I do believe she has another winning series on her hands. This is Bishop Scott and Brooke Perron’s story.
This is hockey at it’s finest. I loved the dynamic between Bishop and Brooke, he is sexually dominant and knows what he wants and goes after it. Hooking up for what they both expect to be a one night stand, Bishop is shocked when he finds out that Brooke is the daughter of his new coach and even worse that she also works for the team.
I was absolutely hooked on this book from the first to the last chapter and couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and I loved the banter and humour as well. Throwing up a smokescreen engagement when her father catches them kissing it was fun to see these two travel the path together as the walls between them fell.
There is plenty of action on and off the ice and I cannot wait to see where Sawyer Bennett takes this team and I am excited for the next release in the series.
