Publisher's summary

Texas cowboy Blaze McAwley has made a lot of mistakes in life. His biggest one is alive, and living on the neighboring ranch. He can’t say she’s well, and that’s his fault too.

Heaven Lane is in trouble. Dogged by an injury caused by Blaze McAwley’s bison, she can barely keep her ranch above water. Her plan to use Blaze to save her ranch is the most fitting revenge of all.

Blaze and Heaven both need something from each other, but working together has never been their strong suit. Can they put the ghosts of their past behind them when their past was supposed to be Blaze's future?

Fantastic story with great narration

Stella Rose delivers an amazing performance for this book. She gives each of the characters perfect voices filled with vulnerability, care, love and compassion. Blazing Hot Nights is book one in Katie’s new series The Cowboys of Bison Ridge. You will fall in love with this series and the cowboys. First up is Blaze and Heaven’s story. Blaze is a kind, hard working bison rancher that was forced to learn the ranch, be independent and grown up fast. He is holding onto some baggage from past events that he cannot move on from and they is preventing him from being happy. Heaven, oh Heaven, this girl stole my heart and I just wanted to wrap her up in a big hug. Heaven has been through more in her young life than many face in a lifetime. She has grit, is determined and will not allow herself to fail. However, she is struggling to move on and live a full and happy life. This is a beautiful story of two broken people that are filled with unrelenting guilt, sorrow and unspoken feelings. Blaze and Heaven’s banter will have you smiling/laughing, their anguish, pain and brokenness will hurt your heart but their courage to forgive, move on and build their dreams will have you cheering. Katie’s gift of words and beautiful characters will keep you from putting this book down. Congratulations, Katie on another wonderful story.

Sweet Cowboy

Great Story of enemies to lovers. Stella Rosa was hard to listen to when she was trying to sound like a southern man. I like the story line better than narration. Thank You Katie for another wonderful book!

Contemporary Cowboy Romance

Blazing Hot Nights by Katie Mettner is a contemporary cowboy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Stella Rose.

This is the first book of Katie's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Blaze and Heaven. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Long Past Dawn to be released on audio so I can get Dawn and Beau's story.

Stella did an amazing job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like contemporary romances or western romances.

A sweet romance

This was a contemporary cowboy romance between two people who were in love with each other but kept apart by a ghost between them. both were so stubborn and just tortured themselves by feeling they we're worthy of each other's love.

A sad story but so sweet

This story is set in the Montana Farm land. Both raising different livestock and suffering from so much devastation it has rocked the friendship they once had. When Heavenly ends up in the creek unconscious Blaze runs to her rescue. This opens the gates that have been barricaded for years. This is a story of loss and devastation, of second chances and heart warming moments and a story about being true to yourself but remembering to lean on others. It has tearful memories, awe shucks moments and some steamy scenes to keep you warm at night. The narrator did a good job with all the emotions and is pleasant to listen to.

Delightful!

I'm so glad I discovered Katie Mettner with her sweet stories that touch the heart. Heaven Lane and Blaze McAwley are neighbors who were one-time friends, until a tragedy tore them apart. Blaze had married his dream girl, but a freak accident on the ranch took her life. Both Blaze and Heaven blame themselves for the accident, but the guilt keeps them apart. Blaze and Heaven's disagreements and source of their fighting, is the misunderstanding about their properties. Blaze is looking to expand his ranch and Heaven's property is what he needs, but she's been very clear that it's not in her plans. There's a fair amount of push and pull, more like grab and shove, before they actually talk it out and realize that they are of the same mind. Their love has always been there and once their truths come out in regard to Callie, they're free to pursue that love. One of the most satisfying parts of this story is the importance and love of family that the McAwleys have for each other. The narration by Stella Rose is excellent. She has a dynamic, well-modulated voice that brings each of the characters to life. There was a pronunciation issue I had with the word bison. It is pronounced biZon, so every time I heard it I cringed, but not enough to be taken out of the story! I highly recommend.

Sweet Cowboy Story!

This is a bit of a slow burn two people finding each other through their struggles. It was a really enjoyable story and kept my attention all the way through. The narration was good but a little hard to follow in some parts. Overall I really enjoyed the book. I would listen to another by Katie Mettner.
