Publisher's summary

Growing up the eldest son of Sean Valens wasn't always easy–and it wasn't always fun–but when your father/son bonding moments consist of going out to blow things up and kill djevels together, you really don't have a lot to complain about.

Sure, as the eldest son there were a lot of expectations placed on him, but SJ never had a problem with any of that...mainly as he was the one doing the placing.

After a couple of tours with the infantry on the border, as well as inside of the DEZ (Demon Exclusion Zone), SJ is now in charge of the hunter teams tasked with rounding up and elimination all of those djevels on the outside. It's a hard and often thankless job but he welcomes the challenge.

The only problem is, it seems things have been slowly getting worse, not better, over the last few years and he wouldn't be his father's son if he didn't take it personally.

Warning: *Sean (SJ) contains scenes of blatant disregard for things that we should all regard; things like your elders and those "older and wiser" and any other thing a headstrong young man might run into. Plus, a pair of dangerous and slightly conniving wives who do occasionally need to be put into their place. Oh, and let's not forget sneaky tigers, not so sneaky cheetahs, and a poor chair that was just minding it's own business until it was smashed into little pieces against the wall. (Oh, and yes, there's sex in this book as well, a little mayhem, property destruction, but sadly no robbery).

Great Series

I love this series! I love the characters and the storyline. So many interesting things going on and so much to explore. My only criticism is the strange accents.

It just gets better and better!

I have enjoyed this series since book 1 and it just gets better and better. The by play, the twists an turns and character growth are incredible. I have read the entire series at least a dozen times and listened to the audio books almost as much. I can hardly wait for the next ones.

Love Jan Stryvant

Gotta love Jan Stryvant and especially anything to do with the Valens Legacy/Heritage world! Just wish the voice actors would choose different accents for some of the characters. Their performances were terrific as always otherwise.

Fun, Interesting, Unique

Alright, so this is book two in the series but I think it should have been the first one. The author ties the two stories together nicely timeline wise but some of Sean’s book goes back before the start of the first one.

However it is well written and has elements of a lot of genres: Fantasy/Romance/RPG/Action/Adventure/Mystery

There is an overarching storyline of killing the demons/dievils.

I am enjoying this series and the intertwined storyline from the first series (Valens)

The Male narrator, Christopher Boucher, does weird accents for some of the side characters which is not needed but he is still talented and enjoyable to listen to.

The female narrator, Jessica Threet,is lovely and talented also.

Stryvant does not disappoint!

Liked the old narration much better but otherwise thoroughly enjoying more of the lion's story

Got to Love the Valens Family!

I really enjoyed this book and some things that I was hoping for finally happened. The Valens Legacy is still up there but it is awesome that I can enjoy the Heritage!

Another E-Ticket ride by Jan Stryvant

Jan Stryvant writes high octane escapism. If you are looking for high culture, you are in the wrong place. Here there be daemons that need killing, Women that need loving, Brothers that need supporting, and war that needs waging. Enjoy.

Tandem to previous book. but still good.

I love this series. All I can say that I didn't care for was how this book and the previous had a great deal of overlap in the beginning and it felt like reading the same book for a good portion. Still good though.
