Story
Some cases hit close to the bone. For amateur sleuth Sabrina Carlson, this is one of them. In Sabrina's mind, missing-persons investigations are always the hardest. Mostly because they remind her of losing her sister years before. If fighting off flashbacks of her sister's death isn't bad enough, this current case is one of the most difficult of Sabrina's career. After all, Claire Blakely didn't just disappear without a trace. She also didn't have any enemies. In addition, as far as Sabrina can tell, there are no leads to work with.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Relaxing read
I enjoyed this book with a cookie and a nice cup of tea. Why? Because these books are really relaxing and a good stress relief. So it’s something you can read in front of a fire with a nice cup of tea or a glass of wine. The books are classic who-did-it stories in the same style as for example murder she wrote. I loved them and think the narrator did a great job.

Well-written stories from a very good author
Hurricanes Can Be Murder and Murder is a Deadly Brew (Hope Hadley), from author Meredith Potts, Well-written & enjoyable. another cute, clean cozy mystery. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Stephanie Quinn. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Two different stories
A double header and two very different stories with the only thing common, each has a dead body. One was so obviously murder but the second one was at first thought to be an accident. Well what do we do now- we investigate.

Hope Hadley Series
Hope Hadley Cozy Mysteries aren't my favorite from Meredith Potts, but they're still a fun listen, They're great to just sit down, close your eyes, and listen to a good story. They're easy to follow.
I really do not enjoy this narrator. I'm not sure what it is, but she just doesn't do much for me.

Cute
These books are short, clean stories for those times you don’t want to get sucked into a long novel, but want a brief escape. They are cute, well told who-done-it’s. The performer did a nice job with narration.

2 dead bodies for one price!
Hope Hadley 2-Book Cozy Mystery Set
By: Meredith Potts
Narrated by: Stephanie Quinn
This book has two short cozy murder mysteries. The first one is called, " Hurricanes Can Be Murder". It is about Hope and her brother who is a cop. It is just after a hurricane and a woman is found dead in the street. Hope and her brother find out she was murdered. They work to find out who killed her.
The narration was fair.
The second book was called "Murder is a Deadly Brew".
Murder Is a Deadly Brew
Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery, Book 11
By: Meredith Potts
Narrated by: Stephanie Quinn
This is a short story and a cozy murder mystery involving Hope and her brother who is a cop. A friend of theirs ends up dead in the parking lot of a restaurant. Hope is one to always try to solve crimes so she hurries to the scene. All of these books we have to suspend belief because no cop is going to let a civilian help out on crime investigations or interview persons of interest. It's all fun to read even if it's not real!
Narration was good.

Quick cozy mystery read
Hurricane Can be Murder Hope Hadley's home town in Florida is hit hard by a hurricane. With all the destruction, any fatalities would appear to be storm related, right? When it is discovered that a woman, whose death was first thought to have been by drowning during the hurricane, is found to have actually been murdered, amateur sleuth Hope teams up with her detective brother Joe to find a killer. Murder is a Deadly Brew What starts out as a good day with a wonderful reunion of pet and owner in the town of Hollywood, Florida, a town just starting to recover from a hurricane, leads to a murder investigation when Hope Hadley's boyfriend discovers the body of a coffee shop owner in the parking lot of his restaurant. Amateur sleuth Hope teams up with her detective brother Joe again to catch a killer. Enjoyed this 2-book cozy mystery set. Also, great narration, in my opinion.
