Publisher's Summary

What is anger?

Why does anger lead many people to aggressive and unhealthy behavior?

Does it have adverse physiological and psychological effects?

Can we term all anger as negative?

Do you feel too irritable or on edge?

Do traffic jams get you angry?

Do your coworkers or boss easily anger you?

Untreated and uncontrolled anger can have very adverse effects on your physical, mental, and emotional health. It can take a toll on you and the people around you. Anger can also affect your relationships, career, family life, and even your general lifestyle.

In most cases, we suppress anger with the hope that it will not affect us and our relations, but that is not an effective way of dealing with it. You cannot ignore the emotion of rage forever - at one point, it will affect you. It’s best if you recognize it, accept it, and deal with it. Put yourself in a position where anger does not run your life. Learn how to use the energy it gives in positively.

This audiobook will help you to understand anger, guide you to identify your triggers of anger, and learn how to manage it. Managing anger can be very complicated if one does not have the right guidelines. To that end, this audiobook uses a simple language to explain the helpful and unhelpful forms of anger. It also describes the steps that you can use to manage it. You will find:

  • The definition of anger;
  • An expression of anger;
  • Understanding anger and smart anger;
  • The causes, signs, and symptoms of anger;
  • What is unmanaged anger;
  • The cost of anger;
  • Anger and mental health;
  • The choice to manage anger;
  • Steps to managing anger effectively;
  • Anger management and communication;
  • Selecting a good anger management program;
  • The use of anger management techniques;
  • Relapses and medication.

My husband listen this book

My husband listen this book because at times he had absolutely no patience with me or my four year old daughter. He didn't feel that the way he was reacting to the situations was wrong but it ahead actually started to put a huge stress on the relationship with him and our daughter.

I have learned new ways of coping

I have learned new ways of coping, and I have seen a definite decrease of anger spells and fits of 'uncontrollable rage. You have to practice what you listen, actively, even when you don't want to. This is worth the money. Hopefully this can help you like it helped me.

Most important part

Our therapist is actually listening it now since we told him about it, and loves it. So our therapist approves! Its a good book if the man and women receiving it is willing to complete the work not just listen through it. Self reflection is the most important part.

Absolutely essential book

Absolutely essential book to understanding anger. The book is accurate in Tony's view of anger, and makes you think about the past in the present, doing a good soul search within yourself, and use techniques to manage your anger, and not manage others for your own self health.

There should be an option for more stars

There should be an option for more stars.
This was written in a manner and in details that hit me directly. With every section I grew a better understanding of myself and my relationship with anger. I wouldn't guarantee that it will help everyone, but it has helped me, and given me the tools to continue to help myself.
Thank you Tony Bennis, I understand myself more now, and with practice will continue to be able to make things better!

I’ve been dealing with anger all of my life

I’ve been dealing with anger all of my life. I’ve had a hard time finding a book that helps sort through the tangled mess that anger creates. This book does just that. I like that it explains anger in both physiological and psychological terms. Anger is a normal and natural emotion. It’s how you react to it that makes all the difference. This book gives you many tools and applications for taking back control. It also uncovers a lot of the underlying factors that contribute to anger. I highly recommend it!

Excellent book

Excellent book!! The person experiencing chronic anger is almost always in a bad mood, the state is extended for weeks, months or even years. All human beings are defined as "chronically angry", eternally angry people who never smile and those who bother everything.
