Good tools for parents who don't lose it so much

This book positions itself as the umpteenth book you'll read on saner parenting. I'm not the target market for this book. I'm more like the husband she describes. I feel the same stress and pressures though; that frustration just goes in a different direction.

This book equipped me with several tools and ideas that immediately helped me reframe my interactions and make better choices when the kids are pushing buttons.

Would recommend to any parent willing to read it.

Great advice for just about anyone

Terrific tools and info for anyone struggling with anger and or control issues, whether or not you have children. Knowing and owning your triggers is so valuable as well as the concept of pausing and redirecting your focus, something we help our kiddos do, but rarely do for ourselves.Which will enable us to lessen the severity and or frequency of our shit loss, accept there’s no such thing as a perfect parent and trying to get there maybe enough self induced stress to push all your buttons. It’s definitely helping me just being aware of things I didn’t know I didn’t know, and self compassion;-) All the best!

love it

I had a hard time hitting pause. shes so real, it felt like she had been the fly on my wall. its helped me pause, and work on my triggers so I dont lose my sh*t. it's a little repetitive which to me was perfect because not only was it drilled in but when my kid was pushing my buttons I could stop and not worry about having to start over

The summary is just what I need

This type of book is difficult as an audio book because I want to be able to reference back to certain chapters and jump around as needed so I'm glad there's an accompanying PDF so I can use that for reference. I enjoyed the way the author uses humor and shows how we can relate to her parenting experience so it made me feel better about my struggles with parenting. There was a lot of background and science which I found helpful but it did make some parts way longer than necessary.

Repetitive, but that's helpful

She really drills in on her points, but it helps to change your thinking when it comes to self compassion and how to make changes. i loved it and I think it's going to help.

tbis is just what i needed

I am so glad that I am not alone with loosing my sh** with my 2 kids. this has helped me stop and think of what is going on and how to calm down. i have noticed some triggers, trying new things and talking tonmy husband about what he can help with before he goes to work in the evenings. we will see where this leads.
