Publisher's summary

The legend of Tal Harrenfel has a new, dark chapter to its legacy, and its hero quests alone into the East.

Though Tal intends to end Yuldor's war himself, Garin and their companions follow closely on his heels. Elendol is in ashes, and its queen has been replaced by one sympathetic to the East. Fleeing the destruction left in his wake, Tal leaves behind all those he loves in an attempt to save them from further harm. His aim is simple: Find Yuldor and claim the Worldheart from him, no matter the cost.

But Garin and the others won't let Tal sacrifice himself so easily. Setting off in pursuit, they intend to offer what help they can. However, not all the company's aims are the same. The East is fraught with imposing challenges, formidable monsters, and dubious allies. And survival is only the beginning, for its Emperor has a scheme in mind that may throw the World off its axis....

Epic

The legend of Tal. Satisfying and entertaining. High contrast guides the reader with anxious interest in the players. Rare story telling. Immaculate performance.

Tom's Bad Review

Tom failed to grasp some pretty important concepts in book 2 as to why it is that way with Garrin. Freaking amazing book and highly recommend.

Good sequel

More of the same action, but it’s nice to see Garin growing in his skills.

Legend of Tal is one one those storys you can listen to and forgot everything, Encapsulating until the end. Narration was spot on.

I waited to review until I finished this book

When I started the 1st book I was a bit torn. It was a bit confusing in the beginning. I feel like the back story and world building was a bit weak. Now, to be fair, i did listen to it (obviously, Audible) instead of reading and since I listen while I work a lot of that could have been lost. It wasn't until halfway through the 2nd book that I got truly invested. And by the end of this 3rd book I was wishing I could go straight to the 4th. But, unfortunately, it doesn't come out til December 2022.

I feel some of the characters took a long time in their growth but it was on a nice roll by the end. I cant wait for the 4th. Unfortunately, by the time it comes out I will have lost that excitement since waiting is not something an adhd mind does well. Still, fingers crossed I even remember that 4th books release and I can jump right back into it..

blah

The main character Tal and his protégé Garin are both annoying and very repetitive neither seems to learn much of anything from their ordeals. Also the author is pretty repetitive with their jokes and there is way to much emotional talk and detail and not enough actual story in my opinion.
