Publisher's summary

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight - telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done. Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy. Oops. My mistake. Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology. I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right? That's what I thought...until I walked into class the next morning. Well, hello Professor West, I'm your new teaching assistant. I'll be working under you...figuratively speaking. Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing working under Professor West. This was going to be interesting.

A beautiful story and beautiful dual narration

What did you like best about this story?

I loved this mixture of alpha/cockiness of Caine and the independence of Rachel. This story was a little different than some other books that Rachel wasn't a complete "weak" lead feminine lead character. A lot of books have a weaker lead with an alpha male lead and I love it when there is a stronger female lead that can stand up for herself at times. Yes an alpha male can be sexy but it's also sexy for a female to stand up for herself and be a fighter and have a brain too.

Have you listened to any of Sebastian York and Andi Arndt ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have listened to several stories by these two narrators - both together and separate and this one ranks up there with other stories they have done. These two narrators both put great emotions into their narration and this performance was no exception. They both did a great job at making you feel a part of this story and feeling invested in it.

I wish there would have been more Sebastian York parts in this book as I wanted to know more about what Caine West was thinking at times in the book.

Any additional comments?

Vi Keeland knows how to suck a reader in with her style of writing. She knows how to deliver an emotional, heartbreaking, beautiful, sexy book all in one easy package. Her characters are lovable and easy to relate to, even when you are mad at them you still want to love them and feel for them. I easily find myself invested in her stories and not wanting to put it down within minutes of picking it up.

Five beautiful stars

I didnt expect this book will tug at my heart. It was beautifully written and you cant help but fall in love with Caine and Rachel. I love the premise and all the elements in this book.

Sebastian York and Andi Arndt was amazing, as usual. They were the perfect narrators for this story.

Much deeper than the Summary suggests

When I read the summary, for this book, I thought this would be a cute, sexy Romantic Comedy. Boy, I was wrong. There is a lot more depth to this book. There are two main parts, to the plot. One is done with flash backs of 15 years earlier. The other is in current times. The story is actually very emotional and I actually shed a tear or two.

The storyline was oh so familiar

Not sure why a lot of the recent stories are based on "that book". We all know which book that is. Tired of hurt characters and men who don't want to commit and women who act like they don't want a relationship when they do in secret but they won't admit to it, scars on the body from abuse, a best friend she borrows cloths from, a guy who is set up pretty well, is overly protective writhing the hour of meeting the heroine, a guy friend who likes the heroine, a bar scenes where heroine drunk calls the hero and as a result he shows up to take her home and on and on and on. Oh stop me before I puke. Can't anyone be original anymore?

A BEAUTIFUL SYMPHONY OF EVERYTHING I LOVE

Seeing the release of one of my favourite author's books had me about to click the add to cart button without needing to read the book's summary because I'm that confident in her work.. but something caught my eye which made me hesitate because a teacher/student NA story is not my preferred romance genre. Then I saw just who was narrating it and my fears were instantly quashed because it was And and Sebastian so I knew it'd be great. But I was so so wrong - it wasn't just great.. it was spectacular and, true to a Vi Keeland story, it was also riveting unstoppable magic. Because she doesn't just write about 25 yr old feisty TA Rachel meeting and falling in love with 32 yr old hottie Professor Caine.. oh no nothing so simple for this impressive talented author - she lets the story build, grow, flourish, flounder.. and then.. yes.. and then she knocks your socks off.

So, when you download this beautiful blissful story (and I hope you do), get ready to be swept off your feet by a story that starts off sweet.. but many secrets lurk beneath. It's a delicious story that has hot sex scenes but the plot's not drowned by them. It's a rollercoaster story that has gut-wrenching lows as well as giddy highs. It's a touching tender story that is filled with emotional angst as Rachel slowly falls in love with Caine. And it's a heartbreaking story as he takes you on a journey through time to his misplaced guilt-ridden past. It's also a shocking story when he uncovers the twisted truth.. as well as a happy one when he inevitably falls hard too. There's also raw all-consuming passion and forgiveness as fate, Destiny.. or the Lord above finally lead these two very deserving characters to their neatly tied HEA's found in each other's arms.

Worth a credit? Without a doubt YES - in fact IMO it'd be worth two. Vi Keeland uses a humorous start as her stepping stone before plunging you into a toe-curling swoon-worthy moving romance that doesn't disappoint. With its easy banter, its perfect yet flawed characters, its clever clever twist and its deep emotional angst that pulls at your heartstrings. My only murmured mumbled complaint is that I didn't get enough Sebastian York as I'd like because the story was told mainly from Rachel's POV.. but a little is better that none at all I begrudgingly suppose. And girls get ready for Professor Caine West.. he's a sexy alpha with a filthy mouth and a heart of pure gold.

Beautiful story

What I enjoyed the most was the fact that they knew each other for more than an hour before jumping in bed. They sensed each other but it grew into more than either could explain, until pretty much the end. Very well done all around.

Perfect narration, wonderful twist

At the beginning, I really wasn't that fond of the flashbacks. I didn't feel like I needed to know quite so much about Kane's past in that way and that maybe I would have enjoyed it more as just one part. However, it all fit together perfectly. Once you realize where things are going, it's a little predictable. But that doesn't make it any less great. Hot sex, perfect narration (of course-- its Andi Arndt and Sebastian York... they are always perfect!), and a sweet story.

Beautiful Mistake

The meet-cute was AWESOME, I think that is what I liked best about this book. ;)

I very much enjoyed the ups and downs of this story. It was believable and yet still had that something extra that I love in my romance books.
Caine is the elusive hot guy you aren’t supposed to have, but you want anyway.

Normally I don’t like a Teacher/Student but this is professor/TA it kind of worked for me. Am I 100% on board nope but that is ok.
Overall I liked the characters they were well rounded and didn’t cause unnecessary dramalama. I think Cain was upfront in where they stood and I think Rachel just feel too hard at some parts and maybe she didn’t know how to communicate that.

The ending was perfect I thought, it showed growth but also the fact that they could give each other space.

Loved the narration I am a fan of both and loved SebYo’s voice the mostest.
