This story left me speechless.

When Zara loses her twin sister and her twin’s boyfriend in a helicopter crash, her life spins out of control in grief and self-destructive behavior. The dead boyfriend also leaves behind a grieving father, Alastair and brother Nash. Both men are also struggling with their grief, and continue to be destructive in their own ways and too each other. Zara makes an arrangement to move out to a secluded private island with both men as they fall into a complicated romance. This story had me thinking and listening well into the night. You’ll want to shake all of three of them as the stumble, and fight, but ultimately heal. Very well-written, the story has a veneer of desperation and reality as three complicated, damaged people learn to love and live again.

Finding love through grief

A heartbreaking tale of grief and finding your way back through love. Zara’s twin sister, and Nash’s brother were killed in a helicopter accident, and it shattered both their worlds. Two years later, Nash shows up at strip club Zara dances at, and he’s clearly not doing well - drunk and angry. After a brief encounter, he disappears, only for his father, Alastair, to show up a few days later at the club, asking Zara for her help. One million dollars for three months on their private island to bring Nate back from the brink of self destruction. The thing is, Alastair is broken too, he just doesn’t realize how much so until she shows up on the island.

An interesting love triangle, to be sure. The history and emotion between the three of them is intense, and their shared grief makes it even more difficult for them to maneuver. As they become closer, Zara becomes more and more conflicted with emotions developing for both enigmatic men, and she knows she’ll have to choose where her heart truly lies. When a bombshell from before the crash that killed their loved ones is revealed, it sends their worlds spinning, but it ultimately leads to realization of what they really want. The HEA is touching, and in the end, everyone knows things are exactly as they should be. It’s a heartbreaking, and yet ultimately uplifting story of pushing through grief and letting yourself love and be loved.

The three narrators do an excellent job of pulling all the emotion out the words, and really let you feel every moment as they maneuver their way through a very difficult situation.

Such an awesome spicy book!

I finished this book in just a couple of days and I’m hooked! I can’t wait for the second one. I really enjoyed this story, I just finished a few of the Salacious Players Club books, and this was a really good division from their stories while still being super engaging. Sara Cate is an awesome author and I’m hooked on her books! Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the narrators' voices for this book so much!! Aaron Shedlock is absolutely going on my favorites list for future narrators to look for books with when I'm picking my next read/listen.

First off, this book has some of my favorite tropes and I just adore Sara Cate for that. It's definitely Praise vibes, but not quite on the level of The Salacious Players Club. As much as I enjoyed it, I just felt as though the storyline was a little too rush for my liking and there was one scene that just made me a little uncomfy (if you know, you know).

Overall, I enjoyed it and I definitely think the right decision was made in the end. 😉

Oh My!!

This is my favorite Sara Cate book! This story is amazing. I enjoyed this audio book so much. I listened to this in one sitting, could not put it down. (well pause it) This is an amazing taboo story. How they dealt with their loss was so interesting. Can't wait for the next book.

Spicy love triangle

I did not know what to expect when I pushed play, and after discovering the catalyst for the loss and dispair these three are suffering, I thought I had it figured out. I didn't. Zara, Nash, and Alistair are each surviving the sudden loss of her sister and their son/brother. Zara works as a dancer and struggles to make ends meet. Nash, who had been destined to take over the family business, is now on a path of self-destruction. And Alistair has thrown himself into his work and try's to figure out how to help his son. That's when he approaches Zara with a proposition; spend three months on the family island, help Nash clean up his act, and she can walk away with a pretty payload.

Once Zara settles into her new 'caretaker' role, she quickly realizes that things will not be simple. Initially, Zara and Nash don't get along, but they find themselves attracted to one another once they get through the snarky banter. But that's not all, as Zara is also drawn to Alistair and the feelings are mutual.

As the three begin to settle into a life together, I found myself torn about who she should choose. Could she be happy with both? Would both men be happy to share her forever? It's angsty and steamy, sad, but it will have you feeling hopeful that they all find love and happiness.

This was the first time I've read this author, and I enjoyed this story. The narrators, Allie Martina and Jeffrey Kafer, were new to me, while Aaron Shedlock is regular for me. They all did a fantastic job portraying the struggles of each of their characters

You can skip this book. None of the charcuterie are particularly likable and Nash and Zara’s chemistry is terrible. Hard to listen to so many hours of people being so terrible! Nothing like the salacious series!

It Was Ok~

Yeah, this one was just ok for me. The plot points were interesting but kindda fell a bit flat at some points. Unfortunately, I found myself rolling me eyes a few times over the female MC. Although, the steamy scenes were really steamy!

The narrators did an absolutely great job with the characters. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have finished the book.

Amazing on audio

Sara Cate will forever be an insta buy author for me and while I read everything she writes on eBook, I've started "re-reading" her books on audio. This story is amazing and is a classic Sara story about a polyamorous affair with a very unconventional twist. Nash Wilde and his father Alistair along with Zara are all linked through a tragedy, and this has a strange bond forming. In an effort to help tame Nash, Alistair offers Zara a substantial amount of money to enter into a semi-relationship for 3 months. Of course, things are not as simple as they first seem and all relationships on this island will become very complicated.
The audio here blew me away. Hearing the performances elevated the story for me by bringing every emotion to life.
