Publisher's summary

The Silver Pack wolves are back in an explosive and sexy romance as a new leader shows everyone, including his mate, what the word alpha really means!

As the new Silver Pack Alpha within the Stope Packs mining coalition, Seth Volk is committed to his people and his duty with a deadly focus. As such, enemies are coming for him from both within and outside the pack, determined to end him before he truly gets started. Even so, there's one female for him in life, and he guards her above all others with a singular determination that both intrigues and infuriates her.

Mia Stone was a trained FBI agent thrust into this world of immortality with centuries-long enemies, a patriarchal structure, and shifting alliances that has her biting not only her lip, but her mate. When a killer from her past makes a move toward her, she's more than ready to meet him and take him down, although she'll have to get past Seth to do so. Her loyalty is absolute, but the Alpha is about to see her temper in full force. Of course, a predatory wolf always bites back....

Interesting addition to shifter cannon....

Well, I seem to just gush every time I review anything from Rebecca Zanetti, so it's only fair that I'm honest if this is not as gush-worthy. This is the second book in this series, and for some reason, I didn't find the audio version until today. Maybe it came out later than the print version, I'll have to go and check that. Regardless, I listened to this today and definitely enjoyed it. Was it her best book? No. But, in her usual fashion, she has created a world that is fun and interesting with compelling characters.

If I'm being honest, this series feels a little less solid to me than what I have come to expect. It feels a little bit superficial. Not in a bad way, just in a way that has the storyline kind of float over the top of the story without going into as much depth as we have seen from some of her other series. Specifically, I'm thinking of her Dark Protector series. THOSE characters are deep, strong and solidly developed. The world is specific and developed. The magic system within the realm is defined. To be fair, there are over 20 books in that series, so there is that. Granted, this is only the second book in THIS series, so I'm sure that the character development and more defined world building is coming.

I like Seth Volk and I like Mia Stone as characters. I think they are going to make a solid center for the rest of the cast of characters that I think is coming along. The actual case this time (the serial killer and the murders), well, without going into spoilers, let me just say that it was a bit weaker than I have come to expect. Really had some holes in that one. And the solution and punishment for the ultimate bad guy had me thinking, "are you serious...!!!???"

So, not my favorite, but I still enjoyed it and am glad I read it. It's funny how even a mediocre book from Ms. Zanetti is better than half of the good books by other authors.

I will be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series which has Eric Volk and Luna as the two MC's.

Okay, okay...I might be a little biased.

Just a little.....

🌻overall, a good listen🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I’ve enjoyed the first two books, with the exception of the Heroine’s inability to adapt to the Shifter culture. In addition, she is determined to “ take care of herself “ against shifters that can move faster than she can even see and are also several times stronger than her. There is being self sufficient and there is being stupid, and she has been the later, so far.

On the other hand, the Hero has had the patience, of a saint, so far. Im hoping that the Heroine smartens up, real quick.

This series does contain some descriptive violence and sex, however, neither is overdone, in my opinion.

Im hoping that this series gets better, as it progresses!

Phenomenal

So, I just finished listening to this book. All I can say is WOW! Rebecca Zanetti has done it again and wrote a phenomenal story that draws you in immediately. The characters, plot, romance, mystery, etc, are written with such perfection that I just am in awe. I absolutely love Seth and Mia, and I can't wait for the next book to come out in this series. I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a really good shifter story. Honestly, I would recommend any book written by Rebecca Zanetti because she does a phenomenal job with all of the different genres that she writes!

My favorite part is the wolf shifters, and that they were men and women, and they had an odd sense of humor

I love the story. I can’t wait until book 3 to see what happens. Hopefully they’ll be Eric‘s story. It was fun.
